The event is for gay people, but open-minded EDMM lovers that are straight go too. I find each year Black and Blue and Bal en Blanc (which is really becoming more Hetero based off personal observation and comments from gay friends) are being more and more straight.
Back in 2003, before Aria participated in Bal En Blanc and the two room concept was born, I remember some of my gay friends saying they didn't want to go to Bal en Blanc because it had become too "straight". Go figure.
As more and more of the "straight" events such as Cream, Oasis, Connected, Swirl, Freaky, get cancelled, the amount of massives that "straight" people can attend becomes diminished and hence the popularity of the BBCM parties increases.
I think gay people are great, but something like the Outdoor Games, I didn't go to. Based off reviews and comments of those that went, it was 90% gay with a few women, albeit very hot ones.
I think Enjoy is just trying to be an antagonist, because anyone that is involved in the EDMM scene in Montreal knows that Black and Blue isn't just for "gays". I find Black and Blue today has a mix of hetero/gay people equivalent of say Bal en Blanc 2000.
Rawful.
Someone told me this is a 99% gay event, can anyone confirm this?????
Wait it wasn't Enjoy being the antagonist, it was Lopi!
It's not 99% gay, it's 99.999% gay. I will be the one straight person attending.

0k 1'm knew 2 dis f0rum, 1sn't bl4ck & Blu3 a gay 3v3nt??????
You can come to my Black and Blue event Lopi, it involves you in my basment and me with a sack of door knobs.
I promis there will be good music though
I checked on www.thissiteisrightabouteverything.com and it says black and blue has been a consistantly gay event for many years.
Confirm/Deny?
Well primarily gay or not..BnB is a great party. Homophobes, stay out...it's cool...more room for me to dance. LoL!!
Honestly...what everyone else said is true, there are massive amounts of hetero spots. So, if eyeballing the "gay" thing isn't appealing to ya, just find a hetero crowd and plant your ass there. Nuff said.
I'm really looking forward to this...
Massive venue, decorations, shows, and despite what some may think...plenty of hot women. What's there NOT to love about the Black and Blue main event.
Bring da drums...the mindflipper is set to dance. Again, I admit...musically it felt slightly off last year. I hope that this year it'll be back to what made 2004 amazing for me...where dark tribal and "serious-don't-bother-me-i'm-dancing" toned vocal house tunes rule the night. Haha

come on now
gays are represented at all edm events...just that there happens to be a higher percentage at this one.No one will rape you alex, you dont have good enough cheekbones
like mindflip said,
stay out of the vicks cowboy mosh pit, and you will have a good time.
when gay people party they do it right.

Yo...
Gays make a fucking party man. I don't know about you, but gays are the ones that get into the music the most, even if it's while gropping another three twinks...
It isn't a Montreal party if there are no gays...
.
did you guys know that even "Bal en Blanc" started as a gay event!
Even Celebration has a lot of gay presence and I believe BBCM is a Celebration sponsor. They got the coin and the atitude, the gay community, but if you're a hick, this ain't for you.
Funny, you think TA community is different from the rest of society, esp considering much of the music we enjoy has underground roots that gays have contributed heavily to. But even narrow-mindedness exists here too. That said, you won't find me in the Vicks Vapour rub mass pit donning Brokeback boots and bottom-less chaps
I'm inclined to agree with Marcus's statement. The gay community KNOWS how to party.
I'm actually glad that the gay-prescence turns off some away from the event. Like I said before...more room for me to dance LoL! Plus, my female friends (or any females for that matter) will be less lewdly (and possibly crudely) hit on by candy-induced "players" looking to score with women that may be "riding the high".
*does that still happen? I'm not even sure anymore, so I could be totally wrong in my assessment.
OMG..I think i'm rambling...sorry guys and gals. Hahaha.
See you in "3" (actually LESS than "3")

Just hope that should I accidently bump into some hottie while dancing, and merely want to give her a polite apology...that her 6'5" BF/BODYGUARD/ASSASSIN doesn't take it as i'm trying to hit on her hahaha. Me being quite a small guy, i'd be instantaneously squashed into pulp. Hahahaha.
