Ostrich egg, ostrich biltong, shark biltong.

Biltong is kinda like jerky, but much much nicer.

Red Boudin

it's a rice and meat filled pig intestine that's beloved here in louisiana.

the red part of the name is used due to the amount of err.. blood in the dish.

Swordfish(meh), Squid(meh), Grouper(omgidie<3<3<3)

Posted by GrimReaper on Aug-25-2006 11:19:

Fried ants, scorpions and beetles.
- All tasted pretty nice actually, with hot spices.

Bull's balls
-

Pufferfish (aka blowfish)
- It took a long time convincing me that i wouldn't die of the poison when eating. Very strong and a bit sour tasting fish, not quite my thing but as something highly special compared to our domestic fishes it was worth trying.

Cheddar cheese and mexican spice larva snacks
- spicy potato chips/pop corn sort of snacks made of real larvas i got at some parties years ago. I would actually buy them if only they wouldn't cost so damn much. A 1.4gram bag of them costs around $2 so 100g of them would cost like $150!!

+1 I was told it was a 'meaty' fish but I found it to be rancid. Marlin wasn't any better. I just don't like fish fullstop, I tried the ones that are supposedly close to meat but still got the horrid tastes

not really an adventurous eater though. i'm more known for my heroic intake of vegetables

Maybe Guinea Fowl.

Or turkey giblets. Neck, heart, liver, etc. All but the stomach, which I put in the pond for the tadpoles.

Meh, I'll remember never to order swordfish, FTL! I'll stick to filet of flouder at a nice restaurant, and Gordon's Fisherman fishsticks at home.

These are not strange - I've eaten cashew regularly for the last three weeks

Well, I'd consider blueberry an exotic fruit, so I guess I see your point

Actually they are not really exotic to me either. I've been eating Cashew nut fruit since my childhood. Very common fruit in Mumbai, India during summer. So is the jackfruit and so are the banana flowers But you won't see these things in USA. Blueberries are unheard of in India, but I can buy them cheap at Walmart here!

I did find a mention of jackfruit on a website that lists weird foods, and I was like wow ! This is the most common fruit grown in the country side from where I come.

Chicken/turkey neck are probobly the nicest parts of the animal. Less muscle = more tender
