I was actually going to say that someone should make sure everyone likes sushi.

What do you mean by "cheap" and what type of cuisine?

Barosoap and I are still deciding, but leaning towards attending.

Ill come if you guys are there.

Thursday....hmmm. If its in the city I will not be attending. The last thing I want to do after a long day at the office plus traffic getting home is to go back out in more traffic to the city. Sorry but I am being honest.

If it were the weekend thats another story entirely.

My suggestion - Minado on East 32nd. You will find anything for everyone

Dallas BBQ has cheap but POTENT mixed and frozen drinks but the food is all chicken and ribs and stuff. not sure if ur into that..

ehh DEF not into Minado...(went there one too many times a year ago...good food tho)

well i'm down for a nice restaurant. Not into sushi so I don't know the prices or anything.

I guess a place that serves alcoholic beverages so we don't HAVE to eat. Probably like a Chili's type of place.

I dunno. Bar N Grill nothing fancy.

if everyone agrees

Nearly every restaurant in NYC has a bar/drinks.

Dallas BBQ wasn't a bad suggestion, but sometimes is too bright and busy. Another we could do is Odeon in Tribeca. Heartland Brewery is another, but I don't know how good it is for groups. There's a bar down near my office, Ulysses, that normally I hate because it's full of Wall Streeters, but could be good, because they have a lot of outdoor tables, bar food, and pretty cheap drinks.

[barosoap edit] We could also try Croxley's. They've got outdoor seating, with picnic benches, bar food, and have these specials on Thursdays
quote:
THURSDAY
Burger and Ale combo - any burger & any pint $12.95
Steak & Ale combo - our special steak & any pint $21.95

MONDAY - FRIDAY
Happy Hour 5pm - 7pm
$1 off all pints and drinks at bar only
(beers with a * or + are not discounted)

[/barosoap edit]

As for Chili's, NO TIMES SQUARE!!!

That's not exactly the first issue I have when it comes to Times Square, but it's one of them

Posted by mcb001982 on Aug-30-2006 15:31:

depending on location i could make it lyss

Posted by Konijn on Aug-30-2006 15:42:

carmine's is great for large groups and the food should appeal to all (although it tends to sometimes get packed due to nearby shows); meskerem on 47th has group-friendly communal seating, but some may not be fans of ethiopian.

indian and afghani are always good mainstays for groups: bamiyan, on 26th & 3rd, has a rear space for groups or you can all sit on pillows in the front.

also, anyone who brings out-of-town guests to a place like chili's or uno's needs to be tarred, feathered and expelled from city grounds.

I'll be at work.

Posted by euphoria on Aug-30-2006 16:47:

You guys should take her to get some REAL New York pizza. You know the pizza in Florida sucks.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Aug-30-2006 16:53:

i agree for the most part...then again, some ppl like going to places they are familiar with (hey, beats going to an unknown place and having the food suck!)

as for pizza places, John's Pizzarera is awesome (but tiny!!!) -- i think there is another one in Times Square or Upper West but its probably pricier than the one in Village...Lombardis is cool but its easy to eat a whole pie since they are YuMMmmmmyyyyyyy!!!!

Posted by trunks1022 on Aug-30-2006 16:58:

ya'll should go to heartland brewery. maybe on 34th and 5th. kay tells me it's cavernous...

big mike, haven't had a chance to be on tv yet. i was supposed to do the blake match last night but obviously the rain washed that one out.

Posted by EarnYourKeep on Aug-30-2006 17:16:

if u guys do the heartland brewry in union sq i might stop by, have a friend who works there

Posted by LandOfTrance on Aug-30-2006 17:43:

French are authorized ?

Posted by barosoap on Aug-30-2006 17:47:

It's going to be very hard getting a big table at Heartland USQ on a Thursday (the king of happy hour days). If someone arrives early though... it's possible. Haven't been to the one on 34th, but that could be a safer bet in regards to seating.

Posted by Groundhog Boy on Aug-30-2006 18:12:

Are attendees going out afterwards? Roger Sanchez is @ Cielo, but I think we're planning to go see Ellen Allien & Apparat Live and Bill Patrick (of the Robots) @ Hiro Ballroom.
