From my personal experience in Corporate America (4+yrs) most Masters do pay off. From a business perspective (MBA), you definitely have a polish to your ethic. Much less practical knowledge since MBA's are more solutional/theoretical in approaching business situations, business relationships, and implementation. An MBA undoubtedly brings you to a different tier/grade level in career choices.

Here's a tip for all you aspiring college graduates. Get your degree and find a job in a field you think you like. Granted what you think you want to do is never always going to be want you want to do for the rest of your life. Test the waters, the job positions, and see what you like. Once you've found a company that you like, the work environment it has, you'll learn about what positions are available and their interest areas.

Another key, don't pay for graduate school kids. Most large companies do have programs with schools where the company will pay for your masters degree. Even better, you can defer any student loan payments during this time as well.

My story, I went from MIS (network architect) to Corporate Sales and now nestled in Online Marketing / Business Analyst / Sales Operations..yea all 3 in 1.

Life is never set after college, the only way you'll find out what you want to do is by going out there and trying'em out. Completing an MBA by the age of 30 sets you off in a really nice salary range and career position.

I agree. It would only give you a leg up on the competition. Or as Ygrene says, land yourself a job to help compensate.

yeah i made a mistake because originally i put "an m.b.a" but then i changed it to "masters" and i forgot to change the "an", thank you very much
