Now that you ask...

Thanks for the well wishes everybody!!

I just came back from my Pre-Op, everything looks cool since I'm a healthy, strapping young lad, but surgery is at 6:30am on Tuesday. ugh.
Hopefully they'll knock me out for this whole thing but the nurse was like, "It'll depend on how the anaesthesiologist (yes I had to look that spelling up) feels, they might just do a block and local".
"huh WHAT?!?", I'm thinking to myself
Oh hellz no, they're knocking me out!!!
I don't wanna feel nooooo thing...NO THANG....
I want to wake up in a nice bed in a state of bliss with the morphene button being my friend...

I WISH I could see Digweed again too!! boooo!!!
I need a Diggers fix right about now...
Poop.

Ah well, fate plays you a card and you deal with it.
I could be bitter if I choose to be, but why complain about something that's already happened?
My health, for the most part, is excellant and I look forward to being on the floor once more and back in the gym where I left off.

Take care, I hope your surgery goes well and you recover speedily!

Best of luck on the recovery!! Hope all went well for you.

I had a scope done on my knee a week ago to remove some broken scar tissue from my previous surgeries. Unfortunetely one of the best Orthopedic surgeons in Ontario was dumb enough to leave three of the biggest pieces there. I was forced to come to the US to have my old doc redo the scope to remove the rest. Now i'm a week behind and thousands of dollars in the hole because of his stupid mistake. Not too mantion i might lose my contract in Europe.

Hope you had better luck

don worry buddy , you aint alone...
I am gonna have surgery myself on friday... and it's gonna be a damn hard one ... nothing's worse than teeth surgery and all 4 of my wisdon teeth should be taken out.

I'll be a zombie for a week after the surgery.
But atleast the doctor's gonna be putting me in sleep so i won't be wintnessing her takin my teeth out of the roots.

Luxury!

Been there done that; didn't even go to the dentist's office to do it.
It was all done in 20 min at the maxillofacial clinic.
I have absolutely NO recollection of leaving the room where they removed the potential impacted molars, just coming to in some waiting cubby hole in a hallway with my then girlfriend and my mom.

although it still freaks me out that I can't remember that 20 ft. walk...like I was abducted by aliens or something...

Basically, for those that's aren't aware, I broke my leg, and did a good job too apparently.

Now your next question probably is, "How did you do that?"
Well, dispite years of rugby, and just getting into a great routine with my weight training, I slipped... trying to run into a family photo!
Let me build the story for you...
Was in B.C. at my grandma's 75th surprise Bday, we were taking a family photo and I just put my camera on a 10 sec. time delay.
As I was running around the right side of my family to get behind them, my left foot slipped on the grass and I fell over backwards, overtop of my left ankle which didn't 'kick out' while falling.
We drove back to Edmonton the next day with me in the back seat, leg elevated and on and off ice packs.
The next morning after that was my flight back to Toronto where we immediately went to the St.Michael's Emergency Ward after landing.
They diagnosed a fracture of my tibular bone near the bottom 'socket' area because that's the area where the bone, 'popped' out for a second during the fall.

They give me a temp. cast and a week later, I go back only to find out that I actually have two fractures, one higher up in the Fibula, kitty-corner to the original one!
Happily it's a clean break and will heal fine.
(Finally some light in this dark tunnel of work's never ending HR paperwork!)

Anyways, they're going to operate on the lower portion of my ankle to put in two screws to help bring my two legs bones to the position they're supposed to be in.
Ligaments were damaged during the fall and now they aren't holding the bones in the right place for it to heal properly.
It's that or forego the surgery and have problems with arthritis down the road because of uneven wear. No thanks!

And that's the story of my suckage...

Happily I have a new computer to keep me amuzed during the day...

hey jeff hope you get better soon
