i say next time armin opens for eric and markus
IF YOU PLAY IT... THEY WILL COME....
& indeed did our So Fla TA family came out to support one of our very finest. Man what a night. I can honestly tell you I had no intentions on sticking around for Armins & Markus's sets. I heard them the last time at Space for WMC & I was not impressed at all. So my whole night was gonna be spent in "The Loft" no matter what.
It had been a while since I've been to Space but I couldn;t have thought a more better reason to go back in order to give support to one of our "BOYZ" throwing it down there.
DP & i go there around 1130ish walked around for a bit & slowly but surely we started running into our group. Man was that main room packed. We rode it out til we got word that thre "The Loft" was opened. Armin came on already but really wasn't feeling his set at all. So I just stuck it out til it was time to go upstairs.
Once we got upstairs & heard what some of these Locals were playing & i can tell you they had an incredible vibe & energy going on that to me was better than downstairs.
I've said it once & I'll say it again
BRING ON THE MOTHERF*KING BREAKS!!!!
Man does TRANCE sound some much better when Breaks are played in between to add a little spice into the mix. As much as I wanted to hear some I think every single DJ that played upstairs played breaks throughout their sets. Many thanks to the LOCALS for doing so...
I did hear a few off beat transitions but overall the music upstairs by far had downstairs beat. I tell ya some of these LOCALS have some sweet talent & I wish them the best of luck to them. These peeps otherwise brought out some sick ass tunes & had so much positive energy to feed off from the crowd that they each & every single one gave the crowd what they wanted to hear.
Now
Eric came on & if you were there you saw that the whole & I mean the whole middle section in front of the booth was filled w/ TA's showing nothing but positive vibe & energy for Eric. He rocked the walls off "The Loft". From the first Track that he was mixing in to start his set til the last song he played. Sucks he only got to play for an hour but I have a feeling for that hour & the amount of people that were there showing nothing but LOVE for Eric.... That's all he needed to leave SPACE with a taste of what a REAL TRANCE DJ sounds like.
CONGRATS MR. GROOVEERIC!!!
YOU PLAYED IT... & we the So FLA TA's came!!!!

I'm glad I made it out cuz we had another famliy reunion & this was our old school family reunion. To many peeps to name but you guys know ho you are.
Can anyone tell me where i am ?

Track of the motherf*cking nite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When he dropped that I couldn't believe it was Armin I was like WTF!
That track is on a whole other level.
Eric dropped it dirty on the second floor & there was a MASSSSSSSSIVE TA turnout...I mean MASSIVE! All there on the second floor to see Eric! I was disappointed it only lasted an hour though but hey there's always NEXT time
Overall Armin did impress me a bit when the tunes he played. Markus after did Markus so you know it was good.
Great nite!
Unbelieveable night! I had an awesome time. Thanks to everyone there, you guys helped make the night for me despite the fucking kiddies surrounding us. that is one of the reasons i dont go out as often anymore. i cant deal with that shit and as felipe said, its just not worth the hassle.
we got there around 11 and for the first 20-30 mins seasunz was actually doing well. then i dunno wtf happened and he blew ass until armin got there. every song got progressively worse. and the worst part about it is the fact that the kids where going nuts to it. they are the reason our scene is the way it is. those bitches getting blown up to a dido song dancing WAY off beat. gimme a fucking break.
i think seasunz problem is that he just tries to play too much. he tries to play everything and he plays other dj's big hits. basically he has no style for himself. its just sad that the little kids actually think its good. in the end seasunz gets a 2/10. and thats being generous.
moving on, armin. i SERIOUSLY wonder what he was thinking when he walked into the booth listening to what seasunz was playing. that was by far the worst warm-up job i've ever seen. armin actually played quite well in my opinion. AND THATS SAYING A LOT COMING FROM AN ARMIN HATER LIKE ME. he did play some older shit like 'zocalo' at the beginning and i was like "this song came out like last year, why are you still playing this?" but overall i think he had a lot more energy in his set than the last time i saw him at space (oct05) or mansion (wmc04). i absoultly love the fact that he played way out west to close. OMFG! i've always loved that song and have never heard it live. for that, THANK YOU ARMIN! overall i'd give armin a 7/10.
even though armin was doing well, there was NO way i was going to miss any of GROOOOOOOVE ERIC! so we headed upstairs and got front and center and supported to the fullest. eric's first track (forgive me i suck at ids) blew me the fuck away!!!! i'm not kidding when i say i've NEVER heard a harder trance set at space. the energy was nuts. even though it was only an hour, it was amazing! eric, major congrats! you ripped space a new asshole! and i hope they noticed the support you have! amber's sign "eric for president" and "fuck armin" described it perfectly! eric gets an obvious 10/10!
ERIC FOR SPACE RESIDENT!
now onto markus. i was really looking forward to seeing markus considering i havent seen him since wmc04. but after being blown away by eric markus just didnt seem to compare.
i knew markus coulda blown the roof off of space but all the little kiddies where going home so it kinda took a lot of the energy out of the room with people always walking by you. so we stayed for about an hour and left around 5 cuz right at that time i'd been up for a full 24 hours. so i dont really have a rating for markus cuz i didnt see much.
overall, excellent night and good finally being back at space despite the little kiddies. now i REALLY understand why space isnt booking any trance.

Wow! I can't believe the night came and went so fast! Took forever to get here, yet flew by so quickly! Many great memories from Friday @ Space! For me, the only phrase that can describe the night is...FINALLY!
Downstairs in the main room, Armin had the place slammed packed. That's a great thing. That means you'll hopefully see him here every 3-4 months or so. As for Markus, only got to hear a little bit of his set, but it was great what I heard. And I'd like to thank him for coming upstairs and saying what's up to me during my set. I loved his comments "Like the old days!"
Hell yeah!
Thank you all who purchased pre sale tickets from me as well. It was a huge part in what made this night possible
See you all September 15.......
IMO Armin brought it nasty this time. Nice track selection, great energy and flow to the set, and technically on point as well. (except for a CD malfunction on the last song he played). He had that main room going nuts start to finish, and rightly so IMO.
As for Markus, his set was not bad, but did not come close to the masterpiece he threw down during conference. I just felt his set this time lacked the energy and direction that I have seen from him before. Still wasn't bad, had the people that were left dancing, and he did throw some nice tracks as always.
Last but not least, Groove Eric. I have to first thank Seasunz for a) booking Eric, and b) letting me know Eric was on and asking me to go upstairs with him to hear him. Never having heard him live I walked upstairs and wondered if there was any way that the energy from downstairs could be matched, and as I reached the top of the staircase and heard what was being played the answer was clearly FUCK YES. I heard about 30 minutes of Eric's 1 hour set set, he dropped bomb after bomb, and had the room going off nicely. Very nice job indeed by TA's own resident DJ, who held his own without a doubt. As I told Seasunz before Friday night, if you blindfold everyone in Space and do not let them know who is playing when and asked them what part of the night was best, you would probably be surprised at whose set many people would pick as best.
Oh and that club was too packed, which is both good and bad. Bad because it makes it harder to have a good time with some idiots trampling everyone. But good because it shows that rumors of the death of trance have been greatly exagerrated by haters who cannot stand the genre. A turnout like this will be hard for LP/Space and other clubs to ignore (bottom line is good turnout = $$$$$), and maybe they will start to bring more trance to Miami. Until then we have 9/15 and Ferry in October to look forward to.
ok at the risk of starting a huge debate, I want to make a comment. At what point did it become cool to just bash the artists that 90% of the people paid to go see, and praise the local hero that was graciously (yet rightfully so) given a forum to spin? I am not doubting G.E. ability, but I think even Eric should be a bit embarrased at the Armin an Markus bashing and the G.E. stroking. I mean if you want to hype up Eric, then do it not at the expense of the headliners. I am sure that with all of this hating going on in here, Armin and probably even Markus dont have much of a desire to hurry back to Miami. Then our local hero is back to playing for 25 people that came out to Blue on a weeknight to see him. I think even Eric (and Eric you can correct me if I am wrong) prefers to see positive vibes and reveiws posted for Armin and Markus as it is better for his future to play Space again in the long run. Again praise G.E. for a job well done, but lets not get carried away and do so at the expense of bashing Armin and Markus. You are comparing two guys who have HUGE expectations to deal with from a very jaded and fickle TA community, to a local hero that we all want to see succeed and who knows personally what each of our favorite tunes are.

I went for Armin, Markus and Eric, I enjoyed their sets, I enjoyed hanging out with the TA Family, Im there for the music and the DJ's, without the DJ's, there is no music, without the fans, there is no DJ to play the music we are there to hear, that is 1/3 of the people in there, 1/3 of us there for the music and the DJ's, the rest is there to party, whatever floats their boats, people do have their opinions, and state whatever they want, but if you go to see Armin, u have bashed him in the past but u are still there to see him, confuses me, I glad to see Eric moving up the ladder of success, I was happy to see Markus and Armin again spin in Miami, which before we only got to see them once a year, this time it was the third time this year, Appreciate the moment, dont bring it down with negative vibes, Just my opinion!!!
my point exactely. I am so sick of all these spoiled people in here bitching. What did it for me was when I saw a short list of songs that were played by Markus and Armin and people bitching. I mean ffs, Armin and Markus played 3 hours each, thats at least 30 tunes minumum each, 60 tunes combined, people see 10 songs that were ID'd and they pass judgement. G.E. played 1 hour, thats 10 songs. Eric, love you to death man, and am rooting for you, but common, you know good and for well what my point here is. If you want trance back in Miami, then unite and rejoice when its here. Dont divide the scene. In my opnion, its not the quality, style or tiesto that killed trance. Its the bitching on the message boards about the stupidist shit.

There is no doubt that some people on here will never have a good thing to say about Armin, no matter what he plays or does. So be it, let them be close-minded, it is their choice to make and defies popular opinion. That is why Spacemasters started his review how he did, because he knew the attacks were coming. I am convinced that even if armin were to throw down the best set in history, and shower the crowd with 1 billion dollars after the set, some people would still complain.
this last page is a waste.
just like those of you armin ass kissers.. there's also armin haters.
FYI if there is one dj i'm sure that can't wait to come back and play for his hometown is Markus cuz that mofo never ever disappoints.
the locals rock in the trance scene down here. edgar + markus and now eric!!
glad to read the reviews and sucks i missed out. Count me in for the 15th we are gonna party extra hard
Stan - I miss you.. Come back soon [when i'm not out of town]

<3
Dont let it get to you Armin & Markus played good sets. And I know because I was there the hole time, till the finish when the main room closed and Markus & Heather came out of the booth. People have opinions. Just let them be. If you would see me before I would have attacked everyone that said something bad. But to this point it doesnt matter. I went there to have fun and listen to my fav music. Which is TRANCE, and I did I enjoyed myself met Armin & Markus for the first time. All I can say let the good times roll and pay no attention to those that try to bring events down and people that bring negativity. I sometimes think its lame we always try to compare artist to what they did in 2000, or 2001, or 2002. Its 2006. So its time to get with the program, what ever happened then was have fun and whatever happens now is just as fun for me, memories is all we have.
In mainly all the forums on TA "Florida" is one of the formus that literally hates on almost every single big dj that comes. Im a heavy browser of these forums. And I can truthfully say the reviews here can bring too much negativity at times. Thats why I follow many artist schedules and try to find some good reviews from other areas they play almost all the times.
