don't take this the wrong way, it's not meant to be disrespectful, but it's kinda humourous

sad news, they said that 3ppl have been registered in Aus to dying from a stingray, he was the third person how unlucky.

RIP

He knew that this is possible and his job has it's downs! but not in this kind of way. Freak nature occurs just when its unexpected.

It is pretty sad since he was one of australias best known icons... although he did get most of the world thinking we speak like him and love wrestling with dangerouse creatures in our spear time.
If there was one way for him to go it had to be doing what he loved.

He loved getting stabbed in the ticker by stingray spines?

RIP .. feel bad for the guys wife (who doesnt know yet apparently) and kids

She does know now and is on a plane home tonight. Most unfortunate for her because i know just when my mrs is only a little while away it feels rough and so much further. Times that by x10 and you got how she must be feeling right now I couldnt even imagine it.

He was one of those people even i use to have a laugh at for his 'crikey' etc comments but even i miss Steve already :/ I only just watched an episode of him chasing snakes around not long ago.

R.I.P Steve.. crazy ******

News does travel fast, I heard when I woke up at 9this morning my family were all discussin it.
I really do feel so sad about this.
He was a a man with a big heart and who as some have said, never had a bad thing to say, never got into bad press, and was never out to hurt anyone, but only to show people nature and how to embrace what a beautiful thing nature is, aswell as be a bit adventurous and some would say crazy, along the way, but in a good way.

I feel for his family more than I usually do with celebrities, as I dont personally know them.
But he was a great man, a nice man, and one who will be sorely missed, by the world, and most of all by his fellow countrymen and especially his family.
My heart goes out to his family, who have lost a man who could only love.

R.I.P brother

R.I.P.

quote:

Marine expert Simon Pierce, from the Shark and Ray Research Group at the University of Queensland, says stingrays will sometimes attack without warning.
"It's got a very sharp tip so it penetrates quite easily and then it's got serrations down the side so it rips when it goes out," he said.
"It's also surrounded in venom so a lot of venom goes into the bloodstream and affects the heart.
"So they are quite a dangerous fish when provoked - they've even killed killer whales before, so certainly not something you want to mess with."

Apparantly 17 have died from stingrays - probably worldwide?

I can't say it's surprising, his life was dangerous to say the least!

Even still, I think he was passionate about the protection of animals and there should be more people like him. It's very sad that he's gone.

sad for his family but i am not going to miss him, apart from hearing 'crikey thats a big croc i better jump on him and stick my finger up his bum that will calm him down' or was that southpark?

steve irwin may you rest in peace and your heaven be a place where it is acceptable to have carnal knowledge of a crocodile.

seriously though, very sad for his children.
