Worm Popper

The night was all about Ferry for me.
Can't really judge Armin since it was ca-razy in there, no room to move, just chilled out in the corner of the KH.
Digweed had a very 'spacey' prog sound going on.
The chill made it hard to enjoy Skybar.

Ferry started off slowly, and got quite hard as the morning progressed. That is the latest I will ever be out again. 6 or 7am is more manageable. Got to attend to responsibilities this afternoon, and a morning like that lends itself to over-indulgence.

I'm having a hard time with the club crowd. The shirtless 'roid cru was in full effect. Maybe it's also because I noticed some people there older than me, and I did not ever want to be them.

Line of the night: "Do you know how I know that you're gay?"

Props to all the TAs, they are usually the ones with smiling happy faces throughout the night, less of the sketched-ness that you can see on the faces of the regulars.

"Did Ferry play any of his big tracks?" (Punk/Body Rock etc.)

"Who's playing right now?"

Fer crissakes.

This one will keep me off the roster for a while.

I think Yohan just mentioned Luke Fair on the way home in the car and I think Cribby did too. So you will have to wait for their reviews

so point form:
* I am just getting home now, fucking exhausted.
* The KH was a fucking disaster; pushy mofo's all over
* Cattaneo was ok (I have seen better)
* The Guv WAS NOT packed like it usually is.. everyone was in KH
* Had a blast with all the peeps I partied with tonight (it was good to see my PTA mofos out in full force too )
* Ferry's set was pretty amazing. I couldn't stop moving if I tried.
* Skybar FTW; great tunes this morning and it wasn't boiling hot
* The Drink.. DRUM & BASS OMG, I was having so much fun dancing to it. I think I need to do a little more research here.

But out of everything said.. I will NEVER attend another Labour of Love again. My night was horrible up until about 5am this morning. I also heard tonight via txt and mouth that Mr. Sander van Doorn is gonna be at the 10yr anniversary, so me swearing off Guv forever won't quite happen yet damnit!

ok rant over.. good night!

[This is Drew hijacking Dannies account]

Brad totally fucking killed it. I think he shouldve played later on in the night. One of my fave house djs atm.

Didnt stick around for Luke Fair though...

[Full review to come later - from both of us I imagine ]

last years sets were recorded and shared online (mixingbowl.org) ....any word if that happened this year?

me to, we need a tracklist

Posted by 4-play on Sep-04-2006 16:43:

Anyone know if Diggers played ' Digweed - Warung Beach', and if so, at what point of his set did he play it? I just want to know how his set was progressing.

Glad you all had fun kids...I just can't take the overcrowding @ Guv. But I sure wanted to see Hernan and Diggers spin.

What time did it end?

Posted by Tunnel Rat on Sep-04-2006 16:46:

Digweed played an awesome, awesome, set.
I couldn't believe it....that little corner that exists to the left of the floor stage and the stairs was completely empty his whole set.
Awesome view AND room to dance.
Sweet night. (oh....and though it was hot...it wasn't uncomfortable. For most of the night anyway.)

I hope you guys enjoyed this yr's ver of Labour of Love! From what I heard, mant said it was the best Labour of Love ever.

My Review of the Drink ....

DJ Hype was just terrible, I was waiting for his set to end and it took forever. No mixing at all, one two tracks were mixed, Mampi Swift - The One and Roni Size - Snapshot.

Andy C comes on and the place just goes wild! I had a heart attack when he drouble dropped Sub Focus - Juno with Dillinja Fluid! HOLLY SHIT! One of my current and old skool tracks mised and blended so smooothly. I never thought I'll hear that track again, especially from Andy C. The rest of his set was ok and then typical Andy goes on FIYA for the last 30 mins.He also played Sub Focus - Airplane as a extended ver .... must of kept loppin' it (Normal that track ain't that long), such a smooth track. But the lyrics gotta go.

Trafiic wise once again was done proppa! Love the one way traffic, yes it's abit of a pain when you just one to go back to one room ... but it makes so much sense to reduced choas and that's the main reason for over crowding.

My night seemed to be off and on, it was a nightmare at the start and everything worked out fine at the end.

How did you guys like KH? I know the Guv was rockin' it.

Traffic was moving right and that corner is a given to be free.

Thank You Armin.

Armin started like this

Pink Floyd
Oxia - Domino
Jennifer Rene - Louder

He also played Sean Tyas - Lift... That track tore the roof off of the Kool Haus.

I expected more from him. Much more in fact. How the hell did nobody play O'Callaghan and Kearney - Exactly???

Ferry fucking owned. I stayed right until 10am. I was going to leave around 7 but he kept getting better and better.

He played Fire twice, the last track he played was an instrumental of it. He also played:
Beautiful
Force of Gravity
I love you
LEF
Galaxia <<-- AMIGAD!!!!
Team SR - Leaving London (T4L remix) <-- OMGOMGOMGOMG WOOT!!!

I damn near cried when he played his Synthaesea remix.

Met a bunch of people thanks to Sasha and ravinjunkie.

Ps. bennasi was awesome up on the roof. RIGHT SASHA????

for the most part, guv > KH. while i liked the songs Armin played, my vibe was just bad after being seperated from my friends and being constantly pushed around by the crowd. went to guv instead for some of digweed's set, and it was PERFECT. the house was great, the crowd was mellow and the whole vibe was just better. Ferry's set was crazy and kept me dancing until the very last song of his set, despite being exhausted, and being convinced that every new song he put on was the mystery song from his LEF lauch in ibiza...

this was my first LoL and while i spent the first part of it in a bad mood, Ferry saved the day. was introduced to soooo many TA's and it was great meeting you all.

Armin did play exactly....

Armins set in my opinion was the best set I have EVER heard from him!!!

didn't compare to dragonfly, decadence 2005 or 2006 didn't even compare to DANCEVALLEY!!!! yeah i lie not...and what we had all hoped for was infact what he did he closed with SEVEN CITIES!!! FTFW!!!!!! TRANCE IN MY PANTS FOR LIFE!!!!!!

it is very hard to say who played better btwn him and Ferry and i wasn't planning on doing that either...but

FERRY F'IN CORSTEN the ONLY regret he didn't drop SUBLIME...that is a necessity!!!

The best part of the entire night was being with my girls in one place at the same time....welcome home spitty now i feel complete!

Glad I decided to go this year. After seeing Armin in Windsor I was unsure if I'd make it out. I'm so glad I did...he was so much better in KH than in Windsor - didn't think it would happen but it did.

Nada - thank you so much for introducing me to a number of TA's - everyone is right - you are the sweetest girl out there.

It was so nice to finally meet a few people from TOTA - _tAmiKo_, *~LiSa-LoO~*, Coxx, Jem_hadar, Sean Cassidy - I know there are others - forgive me for forgetting...

Overall it was a great night - spent most of the night in the KH but the tent was amazing as well. Kind of a weird crowd but once they stopped serving booze it seemed to get better...isn't that always the case??!!

It was nice to see Armin up close again - he seemed much happier and in a better mood than the night before. Can't wait to see him again...

I've got some great pics and vids - I'll post them as soon as I figure out how.

M.

truly amazing nigth for me. i stood in the people-without-tickets line for around hour and half, entered around 3 and was very crowded but surprisingly you could move around pretty easily.

the higlight of the nigth for me was meeting Sasha and INTRANCE and watching the sunrise in the Skybar. I think the sun only showed up for that!

I didn't heard much from the others djs but Ferry's set was very good and got me moving till i left around 9. I also liked a girl that was djing in the tent, she dropped a couple of wiked mixs in there. The dj at skybar i don't have idea who was, by that moment i was seeing things in binary and was totally desoriented :-)

wiked wiked party, my best in long time.

ciao ciao till the next one!
