End date

Shall we set a definite end date soon now? 'twould be wise.

That way I know when to stop making it, else I just compose an compose till I grow tired with it.

And I don't want that

Re: TA remix comp II...which midi?

hey pjotr g

can anyone enter the remix competition?
is it a track by yourself that's on the mark for remixing here, or just a midi file?

i think you could call this a TA theme if the admin is alright with it, who knows

Trance.nu has one, maybe TA should get one as well...

just an idea

Posted by Pjotr G on Mar-28-2002 22:04:

yeah any TA can enter...it's the MIDI file that you build your song on...that midi file is an original and isn't a song yet.

And I asked swamper a while ago he said if the winning song is good enough, he'll put it on the download singles page (no promises)

Posted by Robert on Mar-31-2002 15:07:

i messed around with the midi a little, resulting in this:
midi3.mp3

i dont think i'll enter this, or at least not with this version.

This competition is cool, I'm gonna get started now.

Posted by Pjotr G on Mar-31-2002 19:04:

nice pads trancenation...the tingly sound is a bit harsh tho

sounds like a nice basis to me....

Posted by Icone on Mar-31-2002 21:53:

i've been messing around with the midi as too lately
as well as with other tracks, but still... couldn't keep my hands of it

i'll try to up the preview mix somewhere...

cheers! Wim

Oh man, Im in. this is gonna be crazy

Posted by DJ Chrono on Apr-01-2002 01:13:

one question, if the song turns out really good, and ..lets say I throw it on my demo CD.. and a record company wants to produce it. Would it be exclusively my own track?

Posted by Michael Russo on Apr-01-2002 01:37:

I have a question... how will this be judged? Based on "content"? For example if someone makes a really really good song but it sounds terrible (ie. no mastering etc.) and someone else makes a song that isn't really as good but sounds better, who will win?

I'm curious because I'm not really good at mastering tracks...

Wink preview mix

Hey, I've been playing with the midi3 file too, here's a sneak preview mix of the track so far :

use right click, save as
lightworks - tranceaddict tune (preview mix)

A friend of mine told me it got a strong Transa feel right after the break

Enjoy, let me know what u think of the tune so far

now now mastering is also part of making a decent track so of course it matters

Posted by DJ Chrono on Apr-02-2002 21:44:

lightworks, thats a pretty decent job what did you use to make it? hardware .. software..?

oh and also.. are we alowed to enter more than one song? I stumbled upon the craziest progressive tech/house noise from my synth, and I used it.. But .. Its alittle to cazy for the people in here (I could be wrong ), so could I enter two mixes of this song? a normal trance tack, and then some crazy remix?

Check out my current progress http://www.geocities.com/djchrono2001/test.mp3

you can make as many versions as you like, but ONE enters the competition. Just choose the best one or sumpin. Otherwise not really fair.
