i might not go. $42.50 is way too much for pvd in orlando.

besides, the fu(kers have charged my credit card three times and no response from their "customer service".

Great set
Exactly what I needed to get my mind off of things.
I'll write more later. But I had an absolute blast.

So much for that eh Stan?

Awesome good time! Good energy. Edgar V did great with the prog. PvD was better than his recent times. Not the best, but it was a good time, some good tracks starting and ending. Crowd was awesome!

Orlando's good this month though. PvD, Dave Seaman, Ferry Corsten...and someone else I'm forgetting. Good shiz.

EDIT: ID ID ID ID ID ID IDs!!!

As much of Edgar V's as you guys can. PvD too plz, if nothing else, his last two tracks. (After 'For An Angel')

Posted by stevieboy32808 on Oct-06-2006 17:52:

I would give PVD's performance a C+ based on my level of enjoyment. The best part about his set were the very first 2 tracks he played and when he dropped 'For An Angel' plus a few other Vandit material. Of course there was the inevitable house track that he slipped in, but that didn't bother me. The packed crowd seemed to eat it up and enjoy it, but personally he could've done better. It wasn't a bad night, but also not a 'he blew my socks away' type of night either.

As far as the other dj's are concerned Edgar V was playing mostly house. He was also one of the djs I was looking forward to hearing play out because of the reputation he has in Miami, but I have to say I was a little disappointed. There was very little, if not, any trance tracks played at all. Overall, it was an ok set. The guy who spun before him was a surprise. He was playing a mixture of progressive and tech-house, but mostly the latter. I only recognized one track which was Mason - Exceeder. Everybody was dancing to his set including me (if you call bopping my head dancin', lol). All in all, I'd rank my listening experience with this dj a B-.

Now on to the people. There was a small handful of beautiful TA ladies in the house and they are Colleen (ClubGoddess), Amber (Trancebrat), and Suzy Solar. It was nice meeting you all especially Suzy. She's like a small package of cuteness. I also met a couple TAs from Miami and Tampa including one from my own city Orlando. In attendance on the guys front was Ben (BsidoHeat, Orlando), Ivan (Relik), Eric (XxGrooveEricxX), Brian (LiL-B), and Terry Bones. Sorry if I missed anyone. My only reference was the photo gallery of TA. I chatted with Brian, Ben, and Eric the most. Ivan was too busy with his lady friends (damn player ) and Terry I met at the last minute. Again, it was a pleasure meeting everyone and I hope we could do this again some time.

edit: name correction

C+? Damn. I'd give him an A. High energy TRANCE set. DA, nice try. Place was packed as fuck. Older crowd. I expected some house or prog, but not much at all. Not as good as November of last year but damn close IMO. Can't beleive you guys didn't like it?

Posted by ClubGoddess on Oct-06-2006 20:55:

I think we should edit the thread title as "review" now?

Well I thought he was great. I'd give him an A. He slowed it down a tad in the middle there, but then picked it up again right after. Even then I loved the tracks. Amber and I were talking about this, you can tell when Paul is having a great night. He does is little dances with his eyes closed, which some of us love to watch hehe. Everyone I was there with thought he played a great set. I loved added tracks during some breakdowns with his Ableton. Edgar too played awesome as usual. I took vids, but the bass was stronger than I thought. I don't know if I will post them.

Great venue as well wow. I know this club was the place to be back in the day, and I hope they continue this way. The lighting and sound system was perfect. The laser also added quite a nice touch. It was just a tad hot in there!!

So great seeing some of the Miami crew Great meeting Stevieboy, and great to see Ben and Stan after so long!! BTW Stevie, Amber is trancebrat

some tracks I can recall right now:

Kyau & Albert - Are You Fine
Avalon - Circa (thomas bronzwaer deep mix)
Gareth Emery - Another You, Another me --- the break on this..WOW
Kuffdam & Plant - The ones we Loved (?? remix)
PvD - For An Angel (marc van linden remix)

his encore sounded as though he started with the break of Another You, Another Me ??

Last night definitely deserves it's own thread. I'm not sure why this thread was altered into a review thread when other events receive a review thread. Whatever. Anyone that thought PvD was going to suck...you were wrong.

PvD kicked ass last night. I first saw him spin in October 1998 and I've seen him spin 15-20 times since then. Last night ranked up there as one of his best sets. I preferred seeing him at Firestone over Space.

PvD was having a great time. He was dancing, smiling, laughing, and into his set and the crowd. The vibe was great and the venue layout was perfect. I recorded a bunch of videos and I have a few that I would love ID's on.

It was great seeing everyone that came out. It was espcially nice seeing Brandon, Ben and Stan.

I'll put up a few pics and videos sometime this weekend.

Amber I got your text but I was out cold by that time.

As for PVD doing good, I don't believe any of you. At least you had fun.

That is all.

Yes because Edgar can not bang it out right before PvD. He's there to open and set him up.

Trust me when I say Edgar bangs it out 100x harder and BETTER than PvD any day of the week.

You have to see for yourself once Edgar goes on AFTER PvD.

No words to explain it. So the Edgar you saw isn't the Edgar we all see and know and LOVE!

blame Ben and Stevieboy. tsk tsk, you guys know better Hense why the title was edited to include "review", but oh well. Maybe we can move them or something.

post those vids bitch, because I know your cam > my cam.

We're not exaggerating when we say PvD played one of his best. Perfect venue, I also preferred Firestone over Space. It certainly is a shorter drive too.

I'll try to get them up tomorrow. Tonight we are watching Grey's Anatomy since we couldn't watch it last night. You know where my ass will be on Sunday...Ferry!

Firestone > Space

No overpriced hotel room last night that you have to PAY to park your car at. Gotta love that!

and my ears arent ringing, I didnt walk out of the club deaf!! what?? lol

Posted by DJReLiK2424 on Oct-07-2006 02:33:

I was able to take a couple of pretty good videos...i'll post them up in a bit.

But yeah Firestone was a pretty nice place. Edgars opening set was good, and PVD's set was good too. I dunno about it being his BEST set...But it was good. No complains here

Only thing that sucked is when PVD played his last track at around 2:45 I was there waiting for Edgar to get back up there and throw down a bagging afterhours set it was weird leaving the club and going home at 3am

edgar also played evermore - it's too late (dirty south remix). i almost died. guy before him and in between was carlos mendoza. i rate him c+ overall. he plays everywhere in o-town with primary residence at zinc bar.

Posted by 3xx3r7 on Oct-07-2006 04:35:

as for my review.

pvd has really threw it down. high energy in the set, just couldn't stop dancing. problem is that i did not "feel" the set as i usualy do with trance. maybe it is because i don't "feel" trance anymore. well anyway, lots of tracks that i did not recognize. some of you miami ta's told me that he played better in o-town than in miami. it was good seeing all of u. the ta turnout was really good. turnout in general was really good as well. the place was packed, even vip. once i got there, the line was wrapping around the block and it was only half 'till midnight. unusual for orlando, if you ask me.

it was good times. thank you all ta's for making it even better.

welcome to orlando. it's the law. sucks, i know. one more track from pvd and opd would be taking care of the rest.

Seems like most people disagree with your assessment and thought PVD did good, yet that's why they are called opinions.

As for Edgar, he always plays house when he opens for PVD. It is called respect as he easily could bang out a full-on trance set that will blow away anything PVD does thereafter. This as Edgar plays much harder trance than PVD does, trust me I lived it week in and week out when he had a residency at the first club Space in MIA. Come catch his closing set here in Miami for PVD and you will see what I am talking about. Moreover many clubs will pull you off the decks if you start banging it out before a headliner like PVD.

Glad everyone had fun.

I wouldn't say Edgar plays harder trance than PvD does. PvD plays hard German trance. He is notorious for spinning hard trance and hard house at 140-145 bmp. 75% of his set Thursday was hard. I loved it.

I love when PVD plays harder, and if 75% of his set was hard than things look good for us in MIA for November. Yet when Edgar decides to play hard trance sets, IMO he goes way harder than PVD has been of late. I find PVD to be more melodic IMO. Still like him though.

He definitely wasn't melodic Thursday night.

Great to see all the north Florida TA's and some from down south too! Both Edgar and PVD did a great job! Firestone is a nice little place there. I'm sure they will plan something like this again in the future!
