So you're in favour of restricting everyone else's privacy so that the police can go after that very fraction of 1 percent of sickos? Needs of many outweigh the needs of few in this case, no? |
We need less regulation of the internet, not more. What we need more of is PLUR.
Please don't mix regulation of the internet (ideas) with airport security; they're very different issues .

| Originally posted by dallastar I recently saw on CTV on Septemeber 11th night news that there are so many conspircy theories on the net too, for example the recently the 9/11, people where claiming that the USA was behind the terrorist attacks. Which I think that's complete bullshit - and supposedly 1 out of 5 americans believe it! that's what ultimatly astounded me! |
Dallas, are you implying that people coming up with conspiracy theories shouldn't be allowed to do so?

watch this
/off topic - as per usual!heheh
9/11 video
I think that certain things should be policed. There are a lot of problems with child porn, chat room pedophiles, hackers, bomb recipes, etc. I believe that we all have a right to freedom, but when someone's life is at risk, that is where the line needs to be drawn. HOWEVER, after the previous statements, I also think that people will still do what they want - internet or no internet. If someone wants to go and bomb a school - they will find a way to do it. It's just that they will have to work harder to find their information. We still have libraries. It's not like those will ever be policed.
The internet is not the actual problem - it's the people who choose to use it for illegal acts.
Okay guys now you tell me who is going to check every one of the hundreds of billions of webpages out there for content!
