Celine Dion is sexy? Janis Joplin? Opera and Gospel singers? okay, see how subjective it is.
I agree those singers have beautiful voices but they're far from being hot/sexy.
When i hear hot vocalists i get the idea of a females voice whos going to put me in the mood, i really doubt Celine Dion would do that for me, she's too epic to be hot/sexy.

I assume he finds his intranet girlfriend Navkat sexy. She normally goes by Jenn. I mean, when they met at Shambhalalala they fell in love and held hands and kissed and had dirty sex and all that, and will be married next year. Can't have sex with someone you don't find sexy right?

The problem is not the nature of the question, but the fact that you're failing to recognize that different people find different qualities attractive. For some, sleazy might indeed mean sexy, and for some, I suppose, Celine Dion might also qualify. It's totally personal preference and only has as much to do with actual musicianship as does your ability to enjoy music with varying degrees of it lacking. There's no right answer, nor is there a wrong one. Yes, some people MIGHT just list their favorite vocalists here, and could still be addressing the question properly if the sexual appeal of vocals is what they value highest.
Move along... |
Well said. Ishkur you're like a whiny little girl who constantly tries to start a debate on the smallest little details. Like Inconspicuous said, what might sound sleazy to you might sound sexy to another person. You try way to hard to be right all the time, loosen up a little you uptight prick.
So in motherfuckin conclusion, the other TA posts did make sense, some people find famous vocalists with deep voices to be sexy wether male or female like Toni Braxton, Barry White and countless others. So your definition of "sexy" will not apply to others so take it easy there pal.
Back on topic.. My choices are Bjork, Sarah McLachlan, Ray Wilson, Rushmore, Niall Quinn
They all have their own distinct styles, but they're all sexy in their own way.

Sometimes I wonder why Ishkur bothers to come to these forums if he thinks he's light years ahead of us and sooooooo much better than any of us poor bastards...it getting really old.
But then again, that's the way people who are rejected by society and are unable to have a normal face-to-face relationship behave when they are given the opportunity to hide behind the anonymity of an internet forum, chat, etc. They think this is their chance to get a fresh start and lead another life in which they are feared and respected
Do yourself a favor and get some professional psychological help...we don't want another Columbine.
Now on to the subject...
I really don't listen to many pop music so I don't have a very wide selection to choose from. I mainly listen to EDM and Rock (bands like Godsmack, Orgy, Disturbed, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, 30 Seconds to Mars, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Guns N' Roses, Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin, Finger Eleven, etc...)
So, I get my female vocals from EDM. I think Delerium - Silence contains some of the sexiest vocals ever sung. Sarah McLachlan's voice is truly out of this world and makes you imagine that it's coming out of a drop dead gorgeous woman. Another set of vocals which I consider sexy but for a very different reason is the one on FR feat. Edun - Who's Knocking. At one point she sounds like she's having an orgasm. "Are you there?....Are you theeeeeere?"
Andain - Beatiful Things also features some very sexy vocals done by Mavie Marcos.

My point isn't your critisism, more your method and style of critisism. You see right now I'm critisizing you, yet I'm being as polite about it as possible in the hope that you might just listen and make things better for all of us - yourself included. ;-)

Iio - Rapture
Mike Foyle - For Your Eyes Only

No matter how cheesy you all think it may be, I love the girls voice, singing for Armin van Buuren's "Burned with Desire"

The Mediaeval Baebes!
I first heard of this female group when they did the vocals for Delerium's 'Aria' and was so moved by thier sound.
They have a very gothic ethereal sound to them, thier work is filled with emotion and the groups individual vocal tones blend together so well it really does make my spine tingle.

Exactly. To Ishkur: Stop hijacking people's threads because YOU don't agree with other people's tastes. Who cares if YOU don't like what other people like, that doesn't mean they have to like what YOU like. If you don't like something, you don't have to act all pompous and have this "i'm better than you" attitude. It's all right to disagree in a respectful manner or criticize constructively.
Seriously, this forum would be much better if people like yourself would just be more respectful and quite acting so stereotypical. It's like a self-parody, where you are stereotyping yourself by saying the same shit all the time, to the point where it is almost humorous (but mostly just disrespectful and silly). Just learn to be respectful adult. Some people on here who are younger than you are much more respectful. Don't like melodic trance? you don't have to call what they like chickenshit or clownshit or whatever you call it, see that's what i'm talking about...self parody, we know your going to say it before you even say it.
The point being, it's just better to leave your negativity to your website and stop beating up on everyone on here who doesn't like what you like...whatever you like. I find more negative posts from you on here about stuff you don't like than positive ones about stuff you DO like. Why not just give suggestions to people as some different stuff that they might like? enlighten them and help them instead of belittling them.
I think you fail to understand that not everyone likes what you like and wont be swayed by your negative, disprectful posts. You do have some good points, like Jarvmeister said, but maybe it's time to rethink how you phrase them and have some more positive input onto this forum instead of this constant "my way or the highway" attitude. I'm not trying to lecture you, just trying to give you some input as what i've noticied on here. But if I am, I'm doing the exact same thing you do, just in a more respectful manner.
It's not a lot to ask if you would just help people out some, because I do think you have a pretty vast knowledge of music, esp EDM that could be put to could use on this forum and enhance it rather than make it this place full of bickering and elitism. You could be the person people can go to on here for some help with music, instead of the person who will critize you for your tastes. It's better to be a helper than a hater. People have found your EDM guide helpful for the most part, even though it does come across as biased at some points but seems like people just laugh that off. I guess we didn't expect you to take everything you say on there seriously, but with your remarks on here towards people, it makes people wonder if you even like EDM, or if you are indeed being completely serious on your EDM guide...and not just satirical.
