All we could hope for is a speedy recovery.

| Originally posted by stevėsto i forgot to mention this is exactly what I had not too long ago that the stupid doctors here at my hospital were not able to diagnose until later. i was sitting in a meeting at work and my arm/shoulder started a pinching pain, then the pinching moved to my chest. with any activity, like walking, i would feel a pinch/pressure in the chest. that night, me and my girlfriend knew for certain something was not right because when we layed down together in bed, laying on my left side, my heart would be thumping so loud she could actually hear it laying next to me! it would thump so heavily, that she could feel the vibrations my chest would make transmitted into the matress. it would only do this laying on my left side because thats where everyone's PMI (point of maximum impluse/impression) is. it had a gurgly liquid sound to it also. this happened after a marathon weekend where i didn't sleep from friday to monday and did a bunch of coke and ghb. its caused by overworking yourself/sleep deprivation/stress. took me about a week to fully recover back to normal. |

| Originally posted by Abhay holy shit... that guy's basically worn himself down to the parallel of having run a marathon. that's what lack of sleep and lots of red bull and a history of cigarettes can lead to... It's also likely that he may have suffered a heart-attack earlier, adn just ignored. If tiesto keeps this sort of lifestyle up, there's no doubt that it'll be deterimental to his health. I hope he doesn't just resort to Anti-Inflammatory drugs, as these things are the signs of early heart problems. Ignoring them and just doping urself up just means more trouble later on. |
do you want to live a long boring life or do you want one thats slightly shorter but is full of excitement? do you want to be a dim faint star in the sky that can barely be seen, or a bright brilliant star that burns out a bit sooner?

How annoying.
May 2005 - I was in australia, so I missed his show (would've gone, cause I turned 18th the previous month)
I come back to norway, and I think he played somewhere I Oz - missed that
may 2006 - I was "russ" (graduation thing in norway) and missed that one too..
Now, I got the tickets, with two of my friends. AND HE GETS A FHECKING HEARTPROBLEM? Ok, I wish tijs all the best, but arhgha"%(/"Q=)¤
buhu, I would have seen him in 6 days!

Whether you like tiesto or not, you should respect that he ruins his immune system and runs himself into the ground to entertain his fans. Yeah, he gets a lot of money but his hours are crazy and I am sure changing time zones every week doesn't help much. |
i heard about this...although i dont think hes one of he best dj/producers now a days, i do hope he gets better and tours again!

His management was planning 1 date in Cream this year cos he didn't want to be flying around so much, only to find out it was the same weekend he'd be asked to open D4L in Toronto, Canada. He chose D4L. - Pantakilidio Beach or something Philipines - monsoon season - 25-06-05 HMH - got changed to Versuz, Hasselt, can't remember reason - think the HMH was already booked by something else - TIC USA events 2005 - natural disasters - Crobar Beinos Aires 2005 - Argentina had crazy period without parties or something, cancelled this gig till the end of last year. - Nijmegsedriedaagsefeest 2003 - unsafe location to hold event - Beachpop 2002 - sickness - All gigs September/October 2001 - 9/11 and no fly zones etc. |

| Originally posted by Abhay hmm.... I thought they prescribed NSAIDs for things like pericarditis? Correct me if i'm wrong. THis is an inflamation of the heart's lining? Definately they'll use Anti-inflammatories.... IF it's an infection, they'll probably throw in non-penicillin based ANti-biotics. Where exactly am I off the mark here? |
| quote: |
| Originally posted by Trance Nutter plenty. NSAIDs in general do not cause the cardiac problems you are thinking of. Only one particular subclass cause cardiac problems. And for a serious condition like this they probably wouldn't give him NSAIDs but rather steroidal anti-inflmms (in hospital at least) which cause no problems. Also, the problems encountered while using COX-2 specifics (the ones which do cause cardiac problems) are not "later down the track" but during the course of drug treatment, remove the drugs and you effectively remove the risk. Finally the use of COX-2 specific NSAIDs has been remarkably reduced since what happened with Vioxx, and it appears that the remaining drugs in this class are safer than Vioxx (however at least one paper I read suggested thats not entirely true). As this condition isn't chronic (from memory, going out of my area now) the use of COX-2 specific NSAIDs wouldn't really be necessary, they are mainly used now for people with Rheumatoid arthiritis. If they gave him NSAIDs upon leaving the hospital it wouldn't be a COX-2 specific drug. And they wouldn't necessarily give non-penicillun antibiotics, it depends entirely on what type of infection he has as to which antibiotic they would give him. |
