Its also a place for "oldies" to vent their frustration, when the same producers keep churning out the same old generic shit they always did.

Rah Pole Position is a nice track, and a few other Airbase related projects have had quite a fair bit of hype since... but what exactly amazing was in those tunes?

Just as easy as it is for noobs to complain tracks are bad, its also all too easy especially these days for older fans to have no interest whatsoever in hearing the most generic fodder out there... unfortunately most radioshows, ways to listen to trance, are flooded with crap at the minute, so what exactly can us people looking for better music, actually do with ourselves?

Most trance producers progress their sound to at least something better than the uplifting formulae that is so tried and tested its become dated.

Ironically, its mostly the noobs who are like "lol haters stfu, omg I luve your track"

Rah - Wave FTW!!!

Escape was/is an awesome tune, well produced too. Didn't hear the new one yet.

A forum is a great place for noobies to call artists shit and to puke on their tracks. It's so easy nowadays to do so (in times where everybody does nothing but whine about tracks/djs/sets/etc. anyway). But producing just ONE track that hits the g-spot of a trance fan is another thing, and it's hard work. Jezper did that more than once. Respect to that.
Every artist can live with it when people say they don't like the stuff, but the speech some people are using, is really lowest shelf. Social behaviour at zero, really.

And for some reason I find more and more people not knowing what overrated, cheesy or hype means.
The track has been played...2 times ? So it's overrated ? Wow.
I guess when more than 3 people say they like it, it's hyped, right ? Oh, and it's commercial then, too - and cheesy of course.

I didn't say he shouldn't produce something he doesn't like just to please others.
Sometimes a change of genere can put out new things from the same producer.
Jasper quitted because he felt that he can't be original anymore in the bounderies of the uplifting trance and when he returned I thought that I'd hear something a bit different.
I do agree on the language here... ppl releax, this is music not politics

as mentioned before... check out everything under the 'parc' guise (with the exception of the narthex remix, which wasn't particularly special). airbase - pandemonium, is also quite a neat twist on his usual formula.. also 'for the fallen' as previously mentioned, and his remix of imogen heap's 'the moment i said it' (which you can download here). i'd say they were all pretty different from the norm.

airbase is one of my favourite trance producers and i don't really understand all the slating he gets, unless it's in regard to the whole 'quitting' thing which was indeed a rather trite cry for attention. i've always found the majority of his music refreshing though, be it formulaic or not.. i think it's great that he pushes his boundaries under some guises & stays true to the epic trance sound he loves with the others

saying that though i haven't heard this latest tune, and thought 'escape' was one of his weakest productions to date

Pandemonium is nice. I completly dislike the remix of the moment I said it. I think it's really generic and uninteresting.

^^^ FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!

I REST MY CASE!!!!

Posted by PlasticSoul on Sep-23-2006 22:17:

Behold, my arse.

There are lots of reason to Airbase be respected:

Airbase - Emotion
Airbase - Genie
Airbase - Escape
Airbase - For the fallen
Mat Silver vs. Tony Burt - Ultimate Wave (Airbase Remix)
IiO - Smooth (Airbase remix)
One man army - The anthem
One man army - Ballroom dancer
Ozone - Rock
Mono - Rise
The Scarab vs Inzite - Unity of Earth 2002
The Scarab - Vagabond
Airbase vs Dj Stigma - Hunting 2004

Most people that posted in this thread never post something construtive, but act like idiots.

If you dont like his tracks, keep the respect at least, and go back for tiesto amateurish state of mind.

And secondly, I'm sorry to disappoint you by saying I will keep producing music forever and ever and ever and ever and ever. You know, there are other artists and other tracks. Make something good of your spare time and go pay your respects to those you actually admire. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.

And finally; you guys who like the track, thanks for your support!

it goes to show after all them years of making songs and becoming famous from the music you make that you still have time to reply to thread that is about you.

so my respect goes to you as a person and a producer by replying to the thread in the first place.most other big producers/djs would just read and leave without sticking up for themselvers.

Posted by Lunar Phase 7 on Sep-24-2006 02:45:

Still think Rah is his best works.

Posted by verdonsky on Sep-24-2006 04:17:

Airbase's remix of Alex Morph - Flaming Clouds is probably the best fucking trance song I've ever heard.

Posted by DJMD123 on Sep-24-2006 07:16:

The remix of smooth is absolutely mind blowing.period.

Posted by verdonsky on Sep-24-2006 18:06:

Airbase's buildups and melodies remind me a lot of producer Unknown Source.

Unknown Source is also one of my favs

WORD!! I like the track and all your statements in this post.

You can still release "early" and "matured" versions. Both will find fans and lovers!

Seriosly...how many tracks that he produced from 2000 until today have you heard? Just what he produced in last year, right?

But in the last 6 years Jezper produced so many beautiful, emotional melodies that many trancers will never forget. Also for me, his is my second favourite producer behind Laurent Veronnez and one of those artists who showed me the real beauty and the magic of trance music. And i'm sure to many other people also.
