i have a set from dance planet uninex earlier this year and he didn't speak once in the entire set.

EDIT he doesn't speak a ton, but he does use the mic when it moves him

Posted by cl005k on Oct-13-2006 21:02:

i think that was an old skool thing

Posted by M_Tektronik on Oct-14-2006 23:22:

Hell yea. I will be there ATB rocks!!

Posted by danlaxx1 on Oct-14-2006 23:34:

Ugh, I so want to go to this but I'm a little tapped for money after seeing AvB and Ferry in the past two weeks. Maybe I can scrounge up some change and head over to the CoinStar machine to make it out.

I would love to be there, but I'll be out of town for Out of Analog's Atlanta show. I'm not sure what to expect from ATB as a dj, but I know Jason will rock out as he always does!

Andre (ATB) posted two very cool videos to youtube which show his home studio. Wow. I don't have much else to say.

ATB in the Studio Part 1
ATB in the Studio Part 2

It would be so amazing to have such an ergonomic space to work in. I think it's cool that he's into 'talking shop' with the public. You know he is also runs a music production school with Woody Van Eyden?

Posted by DeRangedMind on Oct-16-2006 01:18:

didn't he still 9pm from Paul Van Dyk, fuck I forgot which thread that was in huge agreement and many people on the music discussion section hate ATB. I don't like ATB either so I'll pass on this show

After seeing his studio I feel like my bedroom studio set is a trash..

Bedroom Studios Can Rock!

Yeah, his studio is amazing. However, I do think it is possible to make world-class music in a 'bedroom studio'. If you look around his studio you can see that some of his equipment is redundant and obsolete. For example, you can see a rack of Akai samplers. There is no reason to do this in hardware anymore and Software samples like Kontakt 2 are way more powerful than hardware ever was. The only piece of equipment that I would really love to have is the big mixing console. Its a Soundtracs DPC-II and goes for $100,000 too $300,000 depending on configuration. It would be very cool to be able to have your hands on all those channels at once.

Couldn't agree more. Thanks for posting these.. gave me never before seen insight into ATB's production. In fact i thought the videos were quite entertaining. He's good at keeping the whole video informative. You can tell he really knows his stuff too.

That mixing board is incredible !! Iss'cool how the faders lock back into the set positions when loading the session. I guess the board better have bells and whistles for $100 - 300k !!

Good stuff James.. Thanks !

The videos show Studio 5 (not his house) which was at media pont bochum aka Music & Artist Agency. It no longer exists (3-4 months ago). He now has Studio 6 which is stationed somewhere else.
