i second that. i remember him from back then too and he played some pretty good stuff.

id have to go with Exacta on that one, based on the two times i saw him.... gotta be honest, Santana's track selection was very similar to almost everything Boris was playing at the time.... and as far as draw, the one time i saw him at Pacha, they unexpectedly moved his party to the Pachita lounge, and it still wasnt full, so i dont know, i think youre being a little partial on this one

ill give you that one though.... my friend just recently saw him @ DEKO and said it was like another Richie he saw there, compared to the several times we saw him in the city.... my boy Matty said he played banger after banger, and ripped the place apart, so i dont know, maybe hes playing different in the city (which is usually the case, but in the opposite way - better in NYC and worse in NJ lol)

Oh NO!!!! Crobar isnt going to be the same without Boris, its something like NY without the Statue Of Liberty.I could definitely see Santana getting a residence there,as Eco mentioned, his sets are very similar to Boris'.And you can hate all you want, but Boris is the best NY based house dj right now,im outt.............lol

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am happy to announce that I have signed on as a resident for Pacha NY for 2007 year. It was not a easy decision on my part leaving Crobar, a Club that i have spent 3 years with, enjoying many memorable record breaking nights.
Pacha is a world wide brand and they have presented me with an opportunity for the future in doing tours at other numerous Pacha's across the globe, including multiple Ibiza dates this summer, as well as endless other things that includes an Album , A Pacha Tour , Radio mix shows on some of the biggest European Stations all over the world just to name a few.

So I leave behind one Great family to go to another Great Family.

I Would like to Thank the CROBAR STAFF and Especially Eric Ortense, Nester , Tommy Marineli, Mike D (one of the best light operators around, Mark (Sound), Dan Devlin Bruce , Frank and Alicia for making it possible to do my thing.

Three years ago at 530 west 28st this great journey started with a small operation that included Deniz, Eric O Dmitry, and with Jonpaul(Fast) coming aboard shortly after, coupled with major contributions from Robpromtions to a TEAM that has stamped it's mark on NYC NIGHTLIFE TODAY. I can't ask for a better group of people to work with and I THANK THEM.

So i say goodbye and Thank You to Crobar, and to my old home. And welcome my new home Pacha where I hope to see all of you Friday for Holiday Party, where we will have some special gifts to give out.

Thanks again and C U All on the Dancefloor

~Boris

some only wonder how djs like boris and draper make residents at these clubs when some of our very own barely scratch the surface of the flier world.

i'd like to see jollins, zack, eddie lee, tek, nauts, 1love kids, frequency kids, all hold a residency at a decently promoted venue, definitely not a crobar or pacha though =)

ive been thinking about this alot and have often wondered why myself,,,but then i remembered shit that used to go on back home and it aint what you know its who you know...in all my time in new york i enjoyed listening to Vic Dinaire and Tae more than anyone (except for Howells at Arc).... but they wont suck corporate cock and unfortunately some peole do.....Vics gone on to great things but I think Tae needs someone proper fighting in his corner....

There are 21 Pacha's around the world. From Spain, England, and Germany to Brazil, Argentina, and USA. Big difference from the 4 Crobars and 1 outside of the US.

Not really that it matters for this debate, but has anyone seen that Crobar is opening a location in Hollywood this upcoming year, so that will up them to 4 US, 1 South America in terms of the number of locations?

Yup. 4 US, 1 outside US.

From what has been announced for january so far, I am actually happy to hear there are going to be locals taking over Pacha. It's going to have a bunch of the usual sullivan room djs and a lot of these guys from what I've seen try to survive week by week as full-time djs, and have my respect for this (more than bigger djs). It would be nice to see something like this monthly at crobar too.

On Robots, when they brought Trentemoller to Cielo in October it was ridiculously packed. And they do Pacha every once in a while. But I think the Robots chose Cielo because of the sound system, the layout, and the fact that it's intimate. Being in a place as big as Crobar makes it so much more impersonal. Packing the place would not be a problem to these guys. There are a few Techno acts that could draw big crowds (Hawtin, Sven Vath, etc., etc., etc.), I don't think they want to be part of the machine though. Otherwise they would have sold out and Bill Patrick would be elsewhere doing even bigger shit.
I'd still go to Robots parties no matter where they are anyway.

All I wanna do is party tonight.
