The first you listed wasn't a shooting, just some kid walking around with a gun. No shots were fired at all and he didn't even threaten anyone. In this day and age, it is stupid, though.

The amish shooting was an 32 year old adult who executed some girls. He obviously had the balls to knife them all, too, as he tied them all up before executing them.

Point being, you cannot stop wanton killing sprees by banning guns.

I disagree. Its so easy to pull a trigger from 10 feet away. Any asshole can do that. It takes real balls to stab a man to death, which I'd bet half of gun murderers don't have.

I think RJT made a good point. The soulution is the real problem though.

Fuck, after all the bullshit with shootings, I wouldn't go anywhere without my gun either... and hey, Americans have a right to arms, so they shouldn't punish him for something he has the right to.

That's the moronic mentality that people are beginning to adopt now, and I don't blame them. But is it really safer for people to be walking around with guns on them all the time? I don't think so.

What is the point? With the "right to arms" you are advocating people to carry a weapon around, and be paranoid and afraid of each other (however, that seems to be the current theme in the U.S., so it is quite fitting.) The problem is, you are giving people who otherwise wouldn't become violent, the means to do so when their tempers are raging. It's like giving a child a razor, and although it is pretty harmless, if used in the wrong way, it can wreak havoc on themselves and other people. Why would you even give people the opportunity to use it in the wrong way?

If guns were more difficult to attain, it wouldn't be so easy for some teenager to take his dad's rifle and wipe his pupils out, and most likely would result in a different outcome in the end. I don't think kids would go around stabbing each other. It takes a lot more balls, courage and personal contact to do that, which I would only imagine is a million times harder to do than to point and shoot.

Yet, you can shoot up an in-home schooling teacher, inside the privacy of your own home - within reason, of course.

First they shot up the schools and I said nothing. Then they shot up the private schools, and still I said nothing. Then they shot up the 7/11, and I had to choke a bitch

What I don't get is how gun laws are still so relaxed in that everybody has access to be able to own a gun. The 2nd amendment reads:
quote:
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

This amendment gives Americans the right to bear arms, but the point of the amendment was to give people that right so that if ever an attack on the country should occur, the people could form militia and protect it. It was written at a certain time with a certain purpose that in no way has any context to country today. In other words, the purpose of owning a gun is not just there so people could own guns, it has a purpose, and that purpose can't be justified today.

People kill people. That's a fact and will not surly change. But the amount of people and the speed in which they do it in could be cut in half if they don't have access to guns. I don't get how pro gun people can claim their right under an amendment when their right doesn't coencide with the context in which it was written.

Sounds like some Americans use the amendments to protect their interests even when their interests don't parallel the amendements.

I must admit, the incident is quite surreal and contrasting. It astounds me how even a town that choose to be isolated from modern threats can still be affected by them.

And now that such a thing has happened, how much more isolated an simple can they make their lives now hoping it won't ever happen again?

It's sad really. Not how the Amish live, just the nasty price they had to pay.

Isolated??? You really don't know about the Amish or where they live. They're not that isolated, they're my parent's closest neighbors.

OK, I didn't mean it that way. I meant they choose to live a simpler an more peaceful life.

NICKEL MINES, Penn. (Reuters) - A dairy truck driver with a grudge burst into a one-room Amish schoolhouse on Monday and killed three girls execution style before committing suicide in the third deadly U.S. school shooting in the past week, authorities said.

That is so sick.

Looks like these terrorists only target girls and children.
