This happend to me too. about that time in guelph. I woke up and it lasted something like 20 seconds. VERY loud.
So weird........I think that was some kinda of phonemonan

another thunderstorm woke me up this morning.

i love thunderstorms, but they've woken me up too early two days in a row and now i am sleepy and grouchy. nature needs a mute button.

i was sleeping at my parents, and everyone got up (2 brothers, mom, cousin) and came downstairs to check on my puppy..and stayed to watch. best morning i've had in a long time. simply gorgeous!

Last night was first time in a long time I was woken up by thunder.

If I didn't have meetings today I would have gotten up and watched the storm. Storm watching in the middle of the night is absolutely beautiful.

My poor dog was so scared he was shaking. At one point the rain was so hard, my street looked like a river.

My bunny chewed a hole in the carpet and managed to open the door to her pen. I woke up to her snuggled next to me, petrified.

I loved it.

This morning as I was getting ready for work there was a thunder storm outside. I could hear it coming closer...eek! Then all of a sudden I saw a flash and a HUGE crack of thunder right after...the storm was right above my house. I went into my mom's room and told her I wasn't going to work today. Hahaha
