hilarious... one guy at work is DEF a mets fan and was giving me sh*t about the yanks losing... then suddenly someone who hasn't said anything all year about baseball suddenly starts ripping on the Yanks and saying METS BABY, and has a mets poster signed by Joe Beningo... I'm like you're a mets fan?? he's like HELL YEAH BABY... REYES!!!! I'm like who's the RF for the mets....
nothing but silence. I love it.
Congrats to the mets though... g'luck w/ the cards.

I cheered right through the horrendous trade of Dykstra for Juan Samuel, days when Benny Agbayani was their slugger, and other great moments in Mets sucking...I deserve my moment to enjoy the warmth of victory for once.
I guess I'm not questioning your fandom as much as I am asking you guys to post more in the baseball thread. It gets pretty boring in there with the same 6 or 7 posters all year long.
This is always a good question to ask a Yankee fan: Who was the Yankees shortstop before Derek Jeter?
lol the top salary on the 95 yankees was...
$5.4 mill for jack mcdowell
oh yeah good ol kenny rogers on the 96 roster...

I became a fan in 95, as a 12 y/o caught up in the wildcard madness... The thing that irks me about Mets fans is they say "HAH, see? Money really can't buy you a championship, maybe you should develop your farm more like us"... yet Reyes and Wright are the only farm hands contributing, and you're running the likes of Lo Docua, Beltran, Delgado, Pedro, Wagner, and Glavine out there.... all high priced FA pickups...meanwhile the Yankees have 3 contributing farmhands in Cano, Melky and Wang, with Tabata, Hughes, and Duncan waiting in the wings. |

Bernie Williams is only making 2 million this year.
And, really, it IS the FAs that the money is tied up in. Giambi, Pavano, Mussina, Wright, Sheffield, Abreu... They all make TONS. .
As for the farm system thing, you're saying Wang and Cano. Okay... Before them, who was the last impact player to come from their system? You can't say "All the Mets have is Wright and Reyes" and then mention Cano and Wang as if the Yankees are producing players like the Indians of the mid-90s.
Also, I too could rattle off Mets minor leaguers who may or may not turn out to be anything great.
And... Eric Duncan sucks.

Actually... it seems like you're the one that's bitter. I'm just making a few posts on a message board, you're the one jumping down my throat.
Also, Brian Westbrook is the Running Back for the Eagles. I think you meant Jake Westbrook.
My point was that it's been quite a while that the Yankees have prodcued an above average major leaguer. You're making it like the Yankees are a player producing machine.
And yes... I do want a cookie. You rattled off names in a way that seemed like youre were trying to be "cool" 'cause you know the names of the only 3 Yankee minor leaguers that everyone has heard of because the media hypes them. I could say Pelfrey, Humber, Milledge and it would be the same thing as you just did.
fuck all that static above
LIVE AND DIE WITH MY YANKEES AND TIMO MAAS BITCHES
