2nd best set of the night. (Details later)
Arrived around 11pm with Aaron, Tammy and the Waterloo gang. Line up was smooth and pretty fast. Thank goodness I brought earplugs this time as it was loud.
Stayed for an hour of MO. Decent warm up, as usual. That Nalin & Kane - Open Your Eyes (which remix?) to end his set was good.
Kenneth Thomas came on maybe 10mins before 12pm. Lots of energy behind decks, but I wasn't really in the mood to dig his kind of uplifting proggy trance thingy. Stayed about 20mins to check out Nick Faciulli.
Loved his first track. (ID anyone?) From there, it was just avg prog. Didn't get me going. Stayed about 30 mins and headed back to KH for the TA meet.
Where were the TAs? There were some, but there were a lot that didn't show up... Kinda disappointing. Oh well. Glad to meet few new ppl, recognized a few more. I guess I'm getting a bit notorious as ppl seems to know me but I don't know them. Doesn't help that I suffer from CRS. (Can't Remember Shit)
Oakey came on. For first 20 mins or so, he seemed to learn how to mix. Was pleasantly surprised. But I wanted to head to the Drink, so I went.
The Drink was PACKED to the tits. Seb Fontaine was killing it as the crowd was loving the stuff he was dropping, but really, it wasn't much different from the stuff a lot of DJs are playing. Good tunes, but just not original enough, I guess. Stayed about an hour, headed down to the Guv to see what Da Dish was playing.
Seemed Sleep Dish was back, as the tunes were pretty mild. Had enough of that for today, so quickly went to Orange Room to see Crystal Method. And it was... meh. Wasn't really into the mood for the trippy breaks they were playing. Stayed about 20 mins and back to KH I went.
In time to see standard Oakey in play. During the time I was off elsewhere, one of the CDJs crapped out and Oakey was freaking out and KT had to calm him down. LOL. Saw Oakey run through a trainwreck and he clutched his head like 'OMG what did I do?' Pure jokes. The tunes he was dropping were good solid tunes that don't get much play anymore, but the mixing was HORRID. I think Oakey's due to retire when he has some shred of dignity left.
Back to the Drink I went to catch John Acquaviva. OMG he killed it. I loved esp. the first 45 mins or so when he was dropping chuggy proggy FUCKING AWESOME tunes. Saw Graham and he pointed me towards some TAs and some mad dancing going on. Then Acquaviva started to mix in some electro y stuff. Now I'm not a big fan of electro but Acquaviva programmed it in such a tasteful manner that I was still loving it. Stayed for another 45 mins or so and then I went down to KH. I also wanted to hear John Acquaviva & Madox - Feedback but didn't, unfortunately. (Massive tune!)
Second Sun was just wrapping up their set and I didn't hear anything awful. Just some standard decent trance tunes. Their last tune was more of a rock tune than a trance tune but oh well.
Main event of the night was Sander van Doorn. To put it mildly, he killed me. Heck, even Aaron was dancing about a third of the time and he never dances! Started off with very techy trance, then dropped down to trance and back to tech trance. 2nd hr had some generic tunes in it, but overall, a really good set. Last tune was some remix of Eurythmics tune which was meh. 3 tunes before that were Fred Baker & Greg Nash - Lunar Eclipse, that remix of Arctic Monkeys tune, then Preach - Broken Inside. TUNAGE.
I wanted to see what Da Dish had to offer so dropped in the Guv twice, but one time, they were playing This is Not Miami so back out I went. The other time it was some remix of Inner City - Good Life (did I get it right?) so I stayed. Then it was back to some generic tune so back to SvD I go.
Overall, the vibe was awesome. Seemed everyone was generally having a good time, esp. some DJs (KT and Oakey and SvD comes to mind) I didn't dance much as I was still hurting from an injury from work, but overall, I had a decent time.
Jon Jon, Hil, Lars, I was looking for you guys... Oh well!
Overall: 8/10
Tune of the Night: Fred Baker & Greg Nash - Lunar Eclipse
PS: Semi retiring from big parties for now. Something is really wrong with my back and I gotta get it checked out.

That was pretty crazy my first time to the guv, last time i was there it was rpm. Great to meet some ta's for the first time... trancegrooves you rock! couldent find my way to where everyone was (back bar at the drink) most of the time i dint know where i was but i did have a wristband so i got some great shots from inside the dj'booths and some cool vids.
Deep Dish was good, there always good.
Manzone and Strong Seb and John were amazing, drink is by far the best room in there tune wise but shit its hot.
Caught about 40 min of second sun, wicked! had that room spinning.
SVD - well im spolied .. had him on friday so im still fried from that, great to see everyone love him off, hes a solid guy and can he bring it!!!!!!!! not bad for someone whos only been on the decks for 2 years.
Loved the fireworks outside, nice touch. Happy 10 Guv

I had fun.
For a 10 Year Anniversary party I didn't think it was all that special.
The music was "ok".
The highlights of the night were really just walking around and seeing friends everywhere and having great conversations.

- for 20-25 mins I caught Carlo Lio in the Gallery and it was outstanding. Clean mixing, well programmed shit, and total party insanity. I should have stayed Carlo, fuck. |
I'm still sad I missed out on VJ's and Carlo's sets...as well as Nathan's too
I swear...Lio and Barato work wonders behind the decks...
I'll catch them next time...

great nigth! .. i just got to KH when Oakenfold started and i quite enjoyed it, he played Southern Sun :-) after that went to the guv to catchup with Deep Dish and oh man contrary to most of the reviews here it was amazing, i didn't abondon the main room and didn't stop dancing all nigth. i left around 7 o'clock my feets were killing me.
negative points were a dude that stole my smokes almost in my face and got hit by one of those dorks doing a light show, it still have the mark in my head.. oh well ..
on the positive part got to meet a lot of kool people some of them fellow TAs.
humm .. ok i will post more if i remmeber anythin new...
