It's hilarious. I really want a copy of this flyer. Jeff?

I hope James Brown makes an appearance too. It's been too long since he's made his last appearance.

I also really hope that Sonic is decorated in accordance with the military theme. I heard lots of great things about that military themed party at System last year.

Finally, once again I am really excited for this party. I'm glad to see Demi finally back home. Not only that I just realized I have a midterm the day before. What better way to celebrate than with Demi @ Sonic?

hehe funny flyer.

Question: How come DEMI gets to play at both Sonic and TiL (not that I'm complaining), but what about the 'politics' shyza? ..just something that curioused me..

Will most likely be there - too early to tell

my bet would be something to do with contracts expiring and all.

i'm sure it has more to do with the fact that demi had an opportunity to play with diggers at the guv, then probably signed a contract that allowed him to play a gig at TiL. he had a chance to play every venue in the city he wanted to, and is now coming back to where he enjoys it the most.

i could be wrong though.

hmm how does this explain him playing at Sonic?

this is complete speculation on my part.

demi is on tota daily, i'm sure he can give you some insight

Don't forget he also played at System after Labour of Love.

And chikaladka, I don't get what you're asking Demi probably signed some sort of agreement to play at certain clubs in Toronto, or maybe signed for a 1 year deal (which would make sense, seeing as how it was about a year ago since he played System)...the terms are really way beyond us to know, but i'm pretty sure once the agreement was up, he decided not to renew it and went back to the Sonic team.

What jeff said answered my question, or at least it makes sense (it made more sense when it was in bold ).. but I still wonder what happened there

Why does it matter what happened there?

The only thing that should matter is that Demi is back home

contracts? agreements? is there something you guys know that I don't

I've never been exclusive and never been tied to anything over a fixed period of time unless at my request. My decision to play at Guv, System and TIL was mine just as it has been for my return to Sonic. To be honest part of my decision was also to prove that even with all the apparent politics that go on in the city and every other country that a lot of us DJ's are blessed to visit, that a DJ is able to rise above a lot of that and do what is right for HIM (sometimes even when it may not be the decision that doesn't please certain people that feel they need to be pleased) - something a lot of agents/managment often don't bother thinking about except for their coffers.

Both the people behind Guv and TIL and also Carey at Sonic have been unbelievably professional and supportive of my decisions and I have too much respect and love for both sides for what they have done for my profile there in the city. I will not be taking up any future residencies in the city at any specific venue despite rumours thrown my way but just want to say how much I am looking forward to this one off special night and to be able to share my birthday celebrations with many of you at that venue. I've taken a good walk around there and got a real feel for that system and what I intend to do to it

- so let's start looking forward to one mentally derranged night out and banish all the non musical crap talks

one love

lol...it was just a hypothetical answer. I never believed it as fact Anyways, it's great to have a DJ like yourself to visit this city and not get involved in all the stupid politics.

Out of curiousity though, since you've played all over the world; are most afterhours scenes around the world caught up in the whole politics like we are here?

hmm .. this looks like a nice way to pop my Sonic cherry and a great continuation to B-day celebrations

Great minds think a like... I just had the same thought reading his post.

Now I am excited..

Posted by infinity HiGH on Oct-24-2006 01:18:

I was excited for this the moment they announced it. demi always kills it (after This Is London I swore to myself never to miss a Demi party as long as I can), and i got a really good feeling about this night in particular.

Definately driving 3.5 hours for this one. Demi tore up Detroit pretty well about a month or so ago.
