The guys I was trainning with all summer in Los Angeles drill this exact senario like there's no tomorrow. They never settled for just having someone in one submission, They would always go for a choke but have a joint lock going at the same time to confuse the opponent so he doesn't know where to focus his attention. As a result I think only one guy got slammed while having a triangle locked in place all summer, otherwise they always yell at you to hook the leg as soon as the guy rises up to slam or stack you. That said I agree it was nice to see someone actually remember to do that. So many of the younger UFC guys claim to have great Jiu-Jitsu and then can't seem to remember the basics once they get in the ring.

My favorite trick I came away with after this summer was a shoulder lock reversal if you are in gaurd and have one arm going for a arm bar and he slips out (which happens a lotin no gi as guys get slippery), then you transition your hips the other way and flip you legs around to grab the opposite shoulder in a pressure lock. I now just dummy the one armbar so I can pull this off instead. The look on guys when you catch them in this is priceless.
