Well couldn't the same be said about movies from any culture?

When I started watching British movies and series years ago I had a really hard time at first not only because of the language but also all the cultural references.

I know when I watch French Quebec stuff I have a heard time understanding some of the cultural references just because I don't know everything about the region.

It's a different country, different language, it's obvious it's going to be hard for any outsider to get the whole thing 100% unless they know the whole culture.

jdat, meet sarcasm.

Are any US movies just as hard to understand for brits?

There's a dubbed version for americans who don't understand english..

Firstly no-one here calls themself British they use the country they are from like I'm Scottish, and technically British but if someone asks I'm Scottish. Not too fussed about being British.

Secondly...... Yank is not a cool word Jerk means the same thing ergo all Yanks are Jerks hahahaha!!!! (drinking Bud for inspiration when I just thought that up how ironic... and gross hate Bud nothing else left though)

Also hate the work Jerk how is that insult how does that work?

Although this thread doesnt apply to me, I can honestly say thanks to TA, a few select films coming out of the UK and BBC America I no longer have much trouble understanding thick Irish/British/Scottish accents/lingo.
