never knew niagara was considered the GTA

I live in NYC now. The vast majority of you are from the GTA or surrounding areas therefore I assumed you would be trying to find a place close by the GTA.....

BTW: the niagra escarpment isn't actually all in Niagra anyway. And this place is in Georgetown which as far as I'm concerned is mroe or less the Greater Toronto Area.

The Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserves includes 190,270 ha (183,311 ha within the Plan Area plus portions of Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park that are not in the Plan). Although the population of the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve is only approximately 120,000, an estimated seven million people live within 100 km of the reserve. This includes Toronto, the province's largest city, as well as upper New York State, U.S.A. (1.2 million).

Georgetown, eh?

TECHINICALLY it isn't... but yeah it's fairly close.
Either way, find a way to drag yourself up here. It's only a 7-8 hour drive. Less if you drive like me

Actually I'm pretty sure it is in the GTA... at least the people of Georgetown seem to think so...

Georgetown is nestled in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, located west of Toronto, on the Credit River, in the Town of Halton Hills, Ontario and is part of the municipality of Halton Region. Georgetown is one of the fastest growing communities in the GTA, and indeed within Canada itself.

I'd love to but I'm busy as hell right now and if I came up there are too many people I would love to see to justify spending a day of it out on the trails. Otherwise it sounds like a lovely plan and I hope you all have fun.

I learned to ride English growing up summers on the farm, however I did do much, it was like piano lessons. It was somethimg I just had to do, though I am proud of the ribbons I did get in shows. My mom's a breeder near Guleph, but she currently does not have horses broken at this time, other than a pony. I've only specialized in bareback and cowgirl as of late.

I kinda skimmed this thread, and i'm getting excited!
whatever it is. please please make the date two weeks before so i can take it off!

do you think we'll do it soon before winter hits?
I've been on a longtrail before [ok it was my best friend and I riding in the desert ]

I'm really looking forward to this! Sonia, please make sure it happens!

Posted by disko-kandi on Oct-20-2006 20:58:

i used to ride for years when i still lived in germany - English style & jumping. we also had our own horses. i actually just brought back my riding pants from the cottage and was planning on checking out a place in king township this w-e. coincidence? TA's never talk about riding ... but it's been my passion since i was little and lately i've been craving it insanely. so off to riding i go!

I'll do my best!
I just need to know FOR SURE who is coming so I can tell them how manby horses we need and stuff.

Posted by lexxwolfen on Oct-20-2006 21:04:

I need to know who is going FOR SURE because the horses need to be booked, and the Daily Trail requires more than 5 people.

Before any dates are set, I need numbers. If anything PM me or whatever and I'll add you to the list.

ooo does she have any trakehners or thoroughbreds around that she want to break? i'll do it

i assume that all this will be western since we're trailriding? balls. i love english and love training as opposed to just hacking around, but i'd still be down for this.

I have been quite a few times. I used to date a guy that his sister had a farm and about 10 horses among other regular farm animals. I haven't been in years though and I don't know if I would actually get on a horse now.

Posted by Misanthrope on Oct-20-2006 23:10:

what date is everyone free?

You should get a horse, and let me ride it.
