I expected more from his The Last Resort album, but I suppose I just have to give it a few more listens...
He's a great artist nonetheless, Rykketid being my favorite track.
he uses acid pro
proof that you dont need a million $ protools rig to sound like a badass

Djuma Sounsystem - Les Djinns (Trentemoller Remix)
Trentemoller - Miss You
Those are the only two tracks that really grabbed me. I need to check out his DJ skills and hear that Essential Mix that everyone is raving about.
One of my favourite tracks ever is from him (in terms of fav. tracks i wanne hear on a dancefloor): Polar Shift. Fucking huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge on a dancefloor. The way it suddenly explodes in the break is just fucking brilliant.
Gotta add that i wish he made more tracks like Latenight Cab Driving. There he shows he can do other styles as brilliant as he does tech house
2 of my favorite tracks at the moment are the Djuma Soundsystem remix and also Trentemoller - Le Champagne.
sounds good

Well congrats to you. I'm actually proud of my first real mix, so that's all that really matters.

Uh,i used to have this track (the you-tube video) in my hard-drive when i was into basic channel-type deep and dubby minimalistic techno/house but i can't remember the name of it!!!. I was a lot into f-communications and soma stuff like the youngsters, agoria, slam, swayzak etc. so it could be a track by these artists but it also could be by a clasical basic channel artist like Maurizio or Monolake, i can't remember. This type of deep music was heavily done by germans back in the mid-90s and i'm a bit fed-up with it. Don't know why it gains popularity now...If you like this type of music i suggest you go to betoni...

As for Trentemoller, i consider most of his dance tracks like "Polar Shift" to be trash. Simple as that. From when do non-sense clicks & cuts with a 4/4 beat thrown in, considered to be a type of "music"?This is just hyped/trendy garbage and it will be forgotten in a few months time, that'a all there is to it.
BUT (there is always a but in these cases) his album was quite good. Aside for the clicks/blips/glitch whatever, trentemoller has a natural talent to produce haunting atmospheric tracks with a noir/cinematic feel to them.Yes, you'll get the extremely boring deep and dubby house like "nightwalker" and "into the trees" (no-more basic channel stuff please!)and ofcourse the type of dountempo IDMish experimental electronica that is all over the album, is very trendy and nothing new as well(see Telefon Tel Aviv, Mum,Dntel,Murcof,Casino vs. Japan, Bola etc.), but in this case it is very well performed. As a result, i find the downtempo tracks to be trentemoller's strength. From the Mogwai, M83 influenced post-rockish "take me into your skin" to angelo badalamenti-style noir dubby psychedelia of the "very last resort", the telefon tel aviv-edged "always something better", and the sweet melancholic dark ambient lullabies of "moan" and "miss-you", these tracks are all ace!So IMO, the lesson is: Trentemoller for cult-movie soundtracks not clubs!
