i don't understand why people think that this is going to change anything right now. what, so with rumsfeld leaving, we're going all of a sudden pull out of iraq....isntantly? [and everywhere else we're stationing people overseas? ]
chances are people that are not in the military [or know someone in the military] will not see any difference in your day to day lives.
and honestly, me being in the military, this won't affect me either way.
new boss, new day.
I think I'm happy not so much that he is being replaced, but more so that Rumsfeld's idiocy will no longer have a say in the direction of this country. Things might not change and Gates may not be much better, but at least I wont have to put up with Rummy's pathetic speeches and press conferences anymore...
