Avant is my favourite....but it runs a little buggy (the pop-up blocker doesn't work correctly: sometimes, out of no where, an unlimited number of pop-up windows will open and I have to re-start the browser to stop the madness).....so I use Firefox....

1. no (useless) feature overhead in ie7
2. ie7 uses less memory

I've just started using Firefox the past month or so, and am starting to get used to it.

The new IE we've been using at work for the past week or so...it's pretty nice too.

Firefox Myths

Firefox still isn't as vulnerable to attacks as IE, oh, and the whole extension thing that Firefox has just destroys IE.

Oh and the whole putting the stop and refresh buttons to the RIGHT side of the address bar, what the hell is that shit? So unintuitive.

OK, So I've been using Opera 9 for the whole day now, and here is what I have to say about it:

- Its "widgets" that are supposed to be comparable to FF's extentions SUCK ASS. First, 90% of their widgets are stupid little games. Second, they're not so much plugins to the browser as they are third party apps that you launch from the browser - they have their own entry on the taskbar, aren't integrated in any way into the browser, and have 3 really useful visibility settings: on top of EVERYTHING, acting like a normal small window separate from Opera's (so your Opera can be the active window, and all its widgets will be hidden somewhere under Opera's window), and the last one, BELOW everything, so you can't see them at all (making them really fucking useful). On top of that, they don't start automatically when you start Opera - you have to go to the Widgets menu and start each one manually.

- If you thought FF was bad on memory, wait till you see Opera, lol. I have both FF open and Opera, each with 3 of the same sites open, and FF uses 40MB, and Opera a whopping 103MB.

- Opera will remind you how much you loved not seeing Ads. Seriously, its ad-blocking system (if there is one) BLOWS. Not only does it not block almost ANYTHING automatically, but theres also no adblocking widget of any kind for it. Also, it gives you a really nifty feature of blocking content yourself, that content being images ONLY, and the only way to block them is to add the image manually to a list of blockable items, by right clicking on the page, selecting "block content", clicking on the offending image, and clicking 'done'. Wow, what could be easier.

It's only upside is that it is quick, and secure. Other than that, you'd ahve to be mentally challenged to choose Opera over FF.

But, if you ahve 2 gigs of RAM, then Opera makes a better choice than IE7.
