Sorry I miss your point? I wasn't aware that today was a holiday, it certainly isn't in the UK.

Last time i checked it didn't involve the whole world. Given it affected most of the world, but calling it World War is akin to the US's World Series. I don't see you "commemorating" a remembrance day for other mass genocides that have happened around the world, some even more inhumane. So please don't assume that because it's important for you, it has to be important for everyone else. It comes off as a bit pedantic.

every football match today had a silence beforehand & will tomorrow. it's not something I know much about, only one of my grandfathers' fought in ww2 as the other was only 7 when ww2 began but i do have respect for those who did, they did what was at the time needed & I'm thankful that they did. However nowadays many people do forget, there's generations lacking respect

Rememberance Day is usually honoured everywhere with a minutes silence here, but because it was on a Saturday i think a lot of people forgot about it.

I was asleep during the "eleventh hour, on the eleventh day...." so i missed it, unfortunately.

yes, commemorate is a better word. next time i will have my pocket thesaurus handy. in the future could you try not to be so quick to call someone a fucking idiot? rememberance day is a holiday i take to heart and i am very aware of it's history and relevance.

don't take these rubbish reactions personally.

There will always be people who can't moderate their feelings in regards to situations which they cannot control and somehow have to let the whole world know how angry they are .... this also applies to a 1 or 2 other people in this thread ....
