the lyrics posted up there are totally wrong.

the lyrics, as i understand them, are brilliant, and really poetish.

so dont bother saying they are "german" and dont know what they write.

nightys.

I want to like this track...but I just can't. Its a piece of shit, Kiksu I do like but this and are you fine are just pants. Seen Armin play both of them out in clubs and they went down quite well but I was just cringing. About on the same level as Love you more by Armin!

from time to time people like lyrics, you know? and emotions.. and what makes them remember, or special vocal arrangements, with a certain melody..

its all so different with tastes..

despite that, people think about what they write, no matter what it is, or how "stupid" often repeated it might sound, its just .. with reason.

every human has reason when he does something, thats a fact, admit that, and respect it, you dont have to like it in every case, really not.

i rather think they sing something like
"tonight, i feel like a [ship wreck?] ray of light.. it wants to shine within the forests deepest place, and so i tried like [...]" .. and so on, doesnt need to be "right" but it makes a beautiful sense to me, and thats what songs sometimes are about, not always understanding them as they were supposed to, but generating a feeling to it.
a artist wants someone to feel something.

just like "see you soon" by coldplay. beautiful song, really! but so many people write down the song lyrics wrong, no matter of that, the lyrics are beautiful even in their version ..

taste (if you like it) - emotion(how you feel listening to it) - interpretation to yourself (what you mean)

,

thats what everything in lyrics / music is about :-) at least to me.

always a fool, says enough alone. put some beautiful music sound around it and you might want to get a little depressive.

but on the other hand, the club mix of walk down sounds rather "stupid" to me as it repeats vocals thousands of times of too muches..
though i like the video version.

gabriel & dresden were able to repeat vocals in a clever way, earlier the past years, on a high, pavement cracks, beautiful things, such remixes.. blah, off topic :-) nuff said!

Concluding: they sing:

"Tonight I feel like a [ship wreck?] ray of light,
it wants to shine within the forests deepest place.

And so i try, like psycho-drop in sound,
to cover you with all the things that make you shine.

And when you walk down, try to touch me,
I'm waiting for a sign,
to keep you on the ground.

And when you walk down, you try to touch me,
I'm waiting for a sign,
so heal me with your love.

Tonight I feel like a ship wreck ray of light,
it wants to shine within the forests deepest place.
And now it seems that the trager feeling
which I blame for all, dissapears without a trace.

No matter if i breath, the air that i need
No matter if i am lost, within a million precious skies

And when you walked down, try to touch me,
I am waiting for a sign, to keep me on the ground

and when you walk down, you try to touch me,
I am waiting for a sign, so heal me with your love.

Oh, yea. Oheieie.. so heal me with your love.
Oh, yea. So heal, heal me heal me with your love.

And when you walk down, try to touch me,
I'm waiting for a sign, to keep me on the ground."

Might be wrong, but who knows :-) the other versions in web are 100% wrong as well. Adding another! HA! *me wins* .. over! out!

One of the better tracks of 2006 in my opinion.

Walk Down > Kiksu >>> Are you fine?

Posted by trancepunkk on Nov-15-2006 11:28:

u guys are over exaggerating so fucking bad. yes u didnt like it but u should be open minded enough to c why others may like it and that it clearly was not one of the worst tracks of the year. the vocals are very unique in the way they sound i must admit, they dont sound too bad but i can still see why others would like them.

compared to their other stuff i agree it is not their best production but its still decent, it doesnt hurt your ears atleast .

i have no idea wdf the vocals mean in this song either but some absolute classics are like that. i mean have u ever tried to understand wat the fuck that chick is actually saying in tiesto's remix of southern sun??? or why in gods name does justine suissa keep repeating the lines "clear blue water......la la la la" in "clear blue water"??? no, because it sounds fucking awesome. which this clearly does in some people's eyes, so respect their opinions, not everybody only likes the exact same tracks that u guys do (amazing right ).

I hate the vocals in Southern Sun because it sounds like some creepy retired woman griping about menopause. I've never liked any Oceanlab track at all. They epitomize cheese.

Walk Down is awful because it's the male version of the awfulness of the other two tracks you mentioned.

And no, not everyone will like the same tracks I like, but this is a discussion board in which we voice our opinions no matter how positive or negative they are. Get used to it.

Southern Sun makes me think of Bjork on acid boiling bunnyrabbits in a pot, proper screech-fest.

But, as with most vocal tracks (ATRC, Burned With Desire, Rapture, etc), it was massively popular.

Beautiful Things, now there are some lush vocals!

Not always must a poem have very complex and long lyrics.
It often is the simplicity, that calls the beauty of the poem into our minds.

I said they were german, but I didn't say they didn't know what they were saying. I understand what the song means, I was just stating the fact that they are german.

oh and the lyrics I posted were from a website. I didn't read them through before i posted them.

my bad.

seriously wat vocals arent cheesy then

east clubbers, sylver, 4 strings have cheesy vocals......not oceanlab

Posted by trancepunkk on Nov-16-2006 01:01:

i dont know how u guys can call made of sun a good track and then absolutely hate walk down and are you fine. i mean wtf does it mean to be "made of sun" honestly . i love this track btw but to call these vocals cheese and shit but say u made of sun was 137491237429342 times better is stupid.

There's a very fine line one walks with using vocals in that it usually be cheesy. Oceanlab is a prime example of cheese. I don't like Made Of Sun either, I think it's cheesy as all hell, along with Velvet Morning. Actually, make that ESPECIALLY Velvet Morning.

The vocals have to be implemented well for them not to be cheesy, but hell, even if they are cheesy a little bit of cheese is alright.

In Oceanlab's case, it's just fucking painful.

Posted by trancepunkk on Nov-16-2006 05:57:

lol your an idiot....what the fuck does it take not to be cheesy according to u, seriously

I'm an idiot because I don't agree with you? Usually, the dimmer of two parties in a debate is the one who first slings insults in an attempt to prove some convoluted point.

I'd prefer no vocals in my dance moozak to be honest unless they're implemented well, but there really is no stipulation on how to not make vocals cheesy. Just like there's no guideline to writing a "good" song. It's all subjective.

I think all those vocals you listed as liking are cheesy or earfuckingly annoying. Your point I have yet to ascertain.

Made of Sun's vox are a bit dumb, but they feature for a grand total of 30 seconds in the track, so it's forgivable, plus the breakbeat bit is class.

Velvet Morning is super ghey!

Posted by Muhcow on Nov-16-2006 10:46:

velvet morning is beautiful, i didnt even know the words "velvet morning" exist together!!

mirco de govia remix was quiete okay!??!

Of course it is, it's made by Sasha & Charlie May.

if its subjective stop making it sound like fact. and just cos u dont like the vocals doesnt make them "cheesy"....there is a difference between just plain shit vocals and "cheesy" vocals.

I'm going to have to take Demoted's side on this one. The vocal tracks you're mentioning are, without a doubt, cheesy. Now you need to keep in mind that cheesy isn't necessarily bad. It is indeed all subjective and you're free to touch yourself to those cheesy tunes all night long if you so please. Now honestly:

quote:

I tremble through the night
But it's hard not knowing where you are.
Shall I call the angels
Or just drink, myself sober again.

I'm serious in love.
I'm serious in pain.
When I try
to reach the velvet morning.

You can possibly tell me those lyrics don't absolutely REEK of cheese. Shall I call the angels? tra la la...

c'mon now...
