Putting ur music online like this decreases the motivation to become better and reach a professional level, because its so easy to sell them... i dunno guys

Actually i don't care, had a quick look through some tunes, didnt bother me much and i think i will never visit AJtunes again

+1

I browsed the website for a little while, listened to about 25 samples and I didn't hear a single decent track.

Artists, think about it twice before registering on AJtunes. In my opinion a good track should bring you more than 30 dollars (that's probably what you will make if you sell it on AJtunes). If you're ok with the idea of making only 40 sales with your track, go ahead. But that probably means you're not very confident about your track and in that case, you shouldn't be selling it anyway !

And if you really want to sell your tunes, you might as well make your own online shop on your website (there's really not much coding to do, especially if you use a system like Paypal), and save the 25% AJtunes are stealing from you .

I was excited when I read this last night, but now I'm not so excited, because I thought about it. In theory it's great, but the problem is, even if you have great tracks, they will get buried under an avalanche of amateur, low quality tracks. Most shoppers will not take the time to sift through 100's of tracks to find the one good one.

It all comes back to the fact that you either need to be a genius at promoting yourself, or get on a respected label in order to have any real success. Oh well, back to reality. AJ Tunes will be an asset to a handfull of producers, so you can't totally write it off. That top 10 sales position is open to everyone. I just wonder how many orders the number 1 seller gets. I'm guessing it's low, probably 20 units or so. EDM is so dead right now as far as sales anyway, even for major label artists.

Huh? Legal mp3 sales of EDM are on the rise every single year man. Trance, House, Tech, Progressive, Techno, whatever. Where did you get the idea that it's dead?

Wow. Just... wow. I'd possibly pay 1.00 to have every copy burned, and then have the ashes burned, and then give the guy who posted it a smackdown for trying to sell something that my left nut could have done a better job on.

But that's not representative of the quality of AJTunes, right?

...Right?

Anyone?

Bueller?

Hah... at least the loops are in sync, the other one was painful, sounded sort of like going to a really bad rave and standing right in between the trance room and the jungle room.

RE- the thing about labels....

ILM pays artists 60-75% of the proffits of every release

-just a bit of info. + you can hagle with your record label, try it- watch how they squirm but give in.

-i think its fine that AJ's giving you 75%, its GREAT for you because us labels only get 50% from which we then have to pat 75% to the artist...

-but the whole $50 sign-up cost PER YEAR? thats lame, weak, a killing in their pockets.

Nevertheless, I hope the scene improves, the least it will do is evolve, change, get better, and then evolve some more- just like history shows

Make your own descision, in the end only you have the power to do anything for yourself.

catalin.
