It was like that even before I got a blackberry though... fucking Rogers...

Same here Rogers has a poor Roaming package... went on vacation once and my cell bill was $800 just from texting.

I am happy now have the rogers to rogers free just wish i had unlimited texting.

If you are texting internationally,/overseas each txt msg is 40 cents. If you txt to the states it is 20 cents. And Rogers has a plan that is 10$/mth for 2500 outgoing txt msgs and unlimited incoming. For every txt msg sent over and above those 2500, then it is an additional 10 cents only as long as it is within Canada.

When I went to Holland with everyone this summer, my phone bill was an additional 150$ just for txt msg'ing alone.

LOL. In India I paid 1 CDN dollar per 300 text messages!

my blackberry is a Vodafone. It was already unlocked and I still had roaming charges, so that isn't true.

no of course not, I used my own..
But next time I am just gonna buy a phone there. They are only 25 Euros and it is for txt and minutes within NL. My friend Ali did that and he was smart about it. Went through maybe 25 Euros with their SIM instead of the 150$ I paid.

Lesson learned!

Those are only good if you're staying in the same country and calling within it.
The long distance charges are ridiculous with those sim cards, like say you're in austria calling germany...2 euro a minute.
I blew through so many euros on sim cards traveling around europe this summer.

yeah you can get them for each country you are in as far as I know.
You know me Brendan, I would only be calling within NL. I have no reason to call or txt outside of it.

I know my friend Ali went through 2 within 4 days of being in NL cuz he was having to txt and call to our Canadian phones.

As long as it's in one country its a great deal. And basically every cellular company in europe offers pre-paid sim cards. Just dont call outside of the country lol, i blame the high rates for me getting lost in ibiza for 3 hours.
