ugh...that was a loong drive home. 2 red bulls and was still nodding off...

anyway, it was the most packed i have ever seen vision. no room to move...getting around was a chore. they turned a lot of previously open spaces around the DJ setup into VIP sections....some of which were vacant for most of the night. they also put a retarded screen in the middle of the dance floor on the second level, so it was very hard to get a good peek at what Sasha was doing. they also took all the tables and chairs out of the "second dancefloor" area. and they had an annoying greasy security guy walking in front of the setup on stage all night shining his flashlight around. i think that siren was a bad choice too... not very aesthetically pleasing...i don't think i'll go to vision for a big event like this again unless i go VIP. yeah, i know, call the waambulance. there was however excellent light work with the cool mist sprays...insane!...

met a few great non-ta people there...

i really enjoyed sasha's set, and i agree at around the 4 am mark is when things really started to take off....incredible harmonic mixing all night of course...

i have a few pics and a couple vids, but i just moved and can't seem to find the usb cable for my camera yet...

Very nice usage Garret

Next time, you could perhaps use some kind of combination i.e. "That show was teh pwn."

Daisy has no idea about TA, Sotiris might have posted twice here at best. He lurks occassionally, however.

Blake do you have any idea what those green buttons along each fader are for?

Posted by Aquadyne on Nov-27-2006 23:29:

clip triggers for each section of a track, so like:

intro
bassdrop
breakdown
main
breakdown
mixout
bassout

he can just trigger them whenever with its corresponding button

Posted by Aquadyne on Nov-28-2006 01:03:

so i was close.

Is that what the tech guy said?

I thought they might be loop on/off buttons, because they light up on or off (toggle style) depending, and I've seen him mixing with different sets of lights on or off.

yeah tech guy said they were for triggering clips, also actually says it on the maven in the pics that are on the internet "clip trigger 1" etc

Posted by Ben Brown on Nov-28-2006 21:50:

what's the best way to set a MIDI button to trigger, say a constant 4/8/16 measure loop on a currently playing track. i don't mean triggering a small loop clip with follow actions. i mean like looping within a currently playing track.

currently i have to go in with the mouse and set the start and length measures, which is fuckin annoying.

seems like sasha was doing something similar at one point, but it looked like he was pressing the button to keep it looping.. couldn't see very well from the 2nd floor tho, so i could be mistaken.

From what I remember, I had an awesome time at this show and at afters. Great to see and meet everyone. After curling up with some wine and some white castle I slept for a ridiculous amount of time sunday. Can't wait to see everyone next time
