Not sure. I know for a fact that it's not a problem with CDJ-800.
ok.
damn you all.
CDJ-200 has to offer:
-0.02% pitch increments. ie. the most accurate pitch you'll get from ANY cd player out there. (more accurate than the Denon players in its range, more accurate than the CDJ-800, just as accurate as the 1000 series)
-mp3 support with folders et al. will play VBR mp3s, but ONLY play them. no cueing/correction/etc possible.
-3 built in effects, once engaged, the jogwheel acts as the effect control, JET (like a flanger basically), ZIP (changes the pitch without affecting the tempo, kind of interesting but not very useful IMO), WAH (a filter really, to the left is low pass, to the right is high pass).
-headphone output in the back. useful for spinning with someone else (in case they wanna cue up and you're using the headphones atm)
that's about it. a simple, to the point CD/mp3 player. i don't care what anyone says, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT A TURNTABLE OR CD PLAYER IS ITS ABILITY TO VARIATE TEMPO ACCURATELY. the main thing you need from your player is small pitch increments, and for them to stay that way. the CDJ-200 does this the best way the digital DJ industry has to offer at the moment. want a bunch of cool effects? go buy an EFX-500 or a Korg Kaoss Pad. i'd rather have something that does few things, but does them well, than something that does a bunch of things, but can go half-ass from time to time.
they're durable and reliable. learn to use it, and while it may take a bit to get used to, adapting to a CDJ-1000Mk2 or Mk3 won't be too much of a problem on the spot, just put it in CDJ mode and your good to go. will be a huge bitch on a CDJ-1000Mk1, as these have a heavy ass jogwheel i think no one is used to anymore.
i have one. over a year now. love it to death. also had a friend buy Denons, and have them start to fuck up on him 6 months later for no reason, and he treated them REALLY good, only moved them in the cases he bought for em, etc. he has since sold that to some poor kid who didn't know any better and moved to Pioneer as well (CDJ-1000Mk3s). he is a happy man. don't let Denons ruin your family. Denons contain trans fat, and other ingredients linked to heart failure and cholesterol buildup in your arteries. tobacco is whacko. only you can prevent forest fires.
