those dont work, and actually increase the chance of hot wax dripping in your ear by 6.omg percent

Now that your ears are wide open... Rockman goodness.

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot that the knowledge you have acquired is superior to everyone else's.

I'm a nursing student, btw...and we use Q Tips. It's true it isn't the preferred method, but there's nothing wrong with it if it's done properly.

So go hump a snake.

You're not as smart as you think you are if you think that's all nurses do.

Moron, lol.

no, but the shitty shit jobs form a very large percentage einstein. if those jobs are required, then its the nurses that do it.

so, go clean up my shit.

Posted by igottaknow on Nov-29-2006 04:05:

when i was a kid i had the flu so bad, i had to stay at the hospital and the only thing that made the week worth while was this cute nurse who looked in on me.

Posted by Ozoned12 on Nov-29-2006 04:08:

why is it called a q tip?

LOL, yeah you're definitely a moron! PSWs and RPNs do that, you tool. I'm going to be an RN. And no, that does not form a large percentage of the job. There's a lot more to being a nurse than that.

And I guess you've never actually been in a hospital before? Have you never noticed that they are run by nurses?? Get a clue, dipshit.

I like that you think you know what you're talking about though, good on ya!

oooh! not a registered nurse! oh my god! shit, ive grown up in a medical family you fuckstain, so ive been learning about nursing for longer than you've been alive. my mum has 3 degrees and still cleans up bedpans when required, ok? so you can put as many airs and graces for this "im not smart enough to be a doctor" profession as much as you like, and in the mean time, go clean up my shit.

That is incredibly bad for your ear. It is said that it can destroy your ear drum.

Posted by medinaM5 on Nov-29-2006 04:15:

most satisfying experiences in life is as follows.

getting your wisdom teeth out, having holes in your gums from where the tooth was removed, eating food, getting food stuck in the holes, then using the water syringe to spray the food out wooooooooo

really? let's go with your medical advice then, student:

which you could say about every medical procedure. so basically, using a scalpel should be something you should advocate on the ignorant COR masses, and advise them to "do it properly".

the simple fact is self-disagnoses are fraught with problems, and yes, you might be able to do it properly as a nurse, but the average joe certainly can't.

(for the record, i have nothing but respect for nurses coz they do all the real work in hospitals, get treated like shit and receive far less pay).

This is the first and hopefully the last time I'm agreeing with little t. Cleaning your ears this way or with a q tip is a bad idea:

"Keeping Ears Clean

What's the best way to get rid of ear wax?
By Robert K. Jackler, MD

June 5, 2000 -- One thing you definitely don't want to do is get rid of all your earwax. Earwax isn't dirt. It's a normal secretion that protects your ear, just the way other kinds of wax protect your car.

If water gets in your ear canal -- while you're swimming or taking a shower, for instance -- earwax will cause the water to bead up and move away from your eardrum. Then the slipperiness of the wax encourages the water to run out of the canal. In addition, earwax is slightly acidic, which discourages bacterial or fungal growth in the moist, dark ear canal. Without earwax, it would be much harder to avoid ear infections.

In a way, it's part of a self-cleaning system. Most people don't need to do any ear maintenance at all. Earwax slowly migrates toward the opening of the ear canal and is sloughed off. If you want, you can take a washcloth and, using your finger, gently wash the opening of your ear.

Whatever you do, don't poke a cotton swab into your ear. A swab may remove a little wax, but it's also likely to push some deeper into the ear canal. Because the canal is hourglass-shaped, earwax can create a plug that won't come out on its own. Most of my patients with impacted earwax created the problem themselves with cotton swabs. "

yeah. and?

Posted by Silky Johnson on Nov-29-2006 04:36:

Yeah and I love that he pulled out the "too stupid to be a doctor" thing.

Doctoring and nursing are completely different in many respects, which he should know, since he's an expert and all.
