Actually - for the last number of years - almost every other weekend we have gone raving at one of Toronto's finer venues. Some nights are just an average night out - but when a big DJ comes to town or a special event happens (long-weekend, etc) - there is extra electricity and excitement in the air. On these special weekends, pretty much without fail, at some point during the night we each have some sort of mystical experience - moments of absolute enlightenment, moments of overwhelming fun, moments of total connection, moments of heightened spirituality, moments of personal reflection, moments of hands in the air, moments of feet on the floor. Some moments more intense than others. I have found that these mystical experiences tend to happen in the early morning as there is something very magikal about daybreak. It is at this time that many are most receptive and open to experiential moments/events. The early morning is the magik. It is when the good tunes are played. It is when the real party happens. And thus EM3T was born... |
once i was ravin, popped some e and i saw jesus. he said to me "killer set huh?" and i puked.

There is a connection to a deeper feeling though, somewhere in the pit of your being. I can't put it into words, I can only feel it. It's primal. I don't think it's the drugs either, I think it's a combination of the music and the crowd. I definately have a stronger experiance in certain crowds with certain music then others. |

For sure we are all equal - but the rave scene is diverse and in order to be true to that you should see that diversity on camera. Also, we may all be equal but we all come from different experiences as a result of what we're born into - be it gender, sexual orientation, culture, race, etc..in the end, if we're all saying the same thing then that's part of the point and one of the reasons why we love the scene.
That guy with the jesus comment is hilarious. And thanks for the tips from people who said to check out the other communities....

Hi Michelle! Welcome to the madness!
Was great to see you yesterday, always a pleasure.
Guys, Michelle is going to be speaking to Layal, if any of you do want to be in the documentary, let her know.

Many thanx!!
It was good to exchange energy with you as always!
Thanx for the plug on this venture you have begun for us my dear Rachel!!
Attached is an email from Layal, a Producer with Vision TV giving an outline of the documentary we will be making, along with her contact info. We welcome everyone who has a personal connection to the topic to share their views and get the truth out there!
Come on take your turn in the limelight!! Don't be shy!!
Hi Michelle,
It was a pleasure to talk to you. Thank you for sharing your story and perspective - I also find it refreshing to come across people who can verbalize exactly how I feel. The goal is to find a story for Vision TV in this - otherwise, perhaps pursue a documentary on my own. Either way, I am interested in pursuing further the idea of regularly finding spirituality or spiritual experiences through electronic music, dancing and drugs (optional).
I would be very grateful if you could pass on my contact information to friends with a personal connection to this topic. I am particularly interested in the perspective of the DJ as the outlet/direct channel to this spiritual connection (aka shaman or priest of the club aka church) Thanks again Michelle!
Sincerely,
Layal Haidari
