HERE'S A GREAT VIDEO &INTERVIEW WITH INFECTED'S EREZ & DUVDEV!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FXDB9HE-g8

HERE IS AN INTERVIEW WITH INDAMIX MAGAZINE FROM SEPT. 05:

First of all, thank you for answering our questions. It is much appreciated for the fans, especially the ones in Montreal.
Since its not everybody that knows the names of the members of the group, could you please name them with their main function (guitarist, vocals, etc.)?
Duvdev Singer / Producer
Erez Aizen Keyboards / Producer
Erez Netz Guitarist
Even with a Website which is well done especially with the choices of skins, and the availability of stuff (albums, singles, news), we dont have sort of a history of the band. What made Infected Mushroom? When and where did it all start for you guys?

It started in 1996, in Israel, we met thru a DJ friend and since then, weve been making music. Our first album "The Gathering" was released in 1998, and it did ok for the time. Our second album called "Classical mushroom" started most of the buzz about us and that album eventually went Gold. Then we released another 3 releases, B.P.Empire, Converting Vegetarians and Im The Supervisor . With all of these releases, came a lot of touring. Weve performed almost everywhere.
Who, more precisely, is IM? We noticed, in the last year, most likely with the performances of the guitarist, that the force of the group does not lie only on a person. But has it changed over the passed years? Like in pop music bands, have Infected Mushroom ever changed its members?
There always been 2 members of Infected Mushroom (Erez & Duvdev), and we do all of the work together. The new guitarist adds a new force to the live show, but he is not producing with us yet.
The main thing we know about you guys, it that you come from Israel. In the conflicts that we all are aware of (wars, religion conflicts), was it hard to emerge from all the prejudices related to Electronic Music in a wonderful, yet very religious country like this?
When you live in Israel you dont feel any stress from religion. You leave the conflicts at the side and concentrate in your own thing. In our case it didnt matter.
Most of electronic music fans have been influenced by your style and developed their interest in psy-trance & goa music, all because of you. But who, sort of, influenced or inspired IM in the making of their albums?
At the beginning we were influenced by "Simon Posford/X-Dream/Etnica and TranceWave" Then we developed our own style and searched for influences in other genres.
We denoted a lot of evolution in your sound, quality of mixing throughout the years. What event, or what do you think happened to reach this quality?
The computers evolved in the last 9 years and the music programs evolved as well. Technology has made it technologically more efficient to produce and mix.
Of course, we learned some stuff about production in that time and we always seek to learn more.
Was there any cooperation with other producers or bands, artists in the process?
We collaborated with a lot of trance artists such as, Simon Posford, Astrix, Deedra, Xerox, SpaceCat to name a few.
The last album available here (and personally I think its the latest one) was Im the supervisor with popular tracks like Cities of the Future, Stretched, Frog Machine and obviously Im the supervisor. What makes you proud of the accomplishment of this album?
We are proud that we can still manage to keep the dance floor rocking after all of the many songs and records we have produced over the years. Its not easy to come up with new ideas anymore, and we are always quite proud of the sound that we managed to create for that album.
What do you think is different, mostly, with for instance, the release of The Gathering, that was my first psy-trance/goa album, which occurred in 1999? There is still 5 years separating the two albums. What is the impact of those 5 years on the IM sound?
The Gathering album was recorded basically without any high tech equipment at all, and with the most disgusting speakers ever built. We didnt have a clue of what we are doing, and never thought that someone would ever release it.
Speaking of popular track that most people sing, what do you think of vocals in electronic music, in general? What does it bring more/less than only instrumental?
Vocals in psytrance is just another sound for us, but it does make it a bit different from the rest. If you see 50,000 people sing "I Wish" or "Cities of the future", we definitely feel good about it!
In addition, what is the major difference in the hype, type of play, when IM does a live set instead of mixing behind tables? What I mean by this, is it more interesting for you guys to play live (technically also)?
Of course, to make a live show is much interesting then pressing play on a CD player.
When all 3 of us are on stage it feels more like a band, and its more interesting for the people as well.
Does the fans influence or not (type of crowd) the choice of making a live set or does it depend only on the event or circumstances?
We try the new tracks that we make all around the world, and the ones that works best stays in the live show and will make it on the album as well. The other tracks get filed away in the archives.
On October 7th 2005, you granted us again with your presence at Aria Afters-Hours. How did you like it.
It was our best show @ Aria until today.
The last time you guys came in Montreal, at Aria, a few days ago, you gave a tremendous live performance with your guitarist. Can we expect more of similar acts in your future visits in Canada?
Yes, absolutely.
Speaking of future visits. After looking up your Website, we discovered that you would be a headliner in our Bal en Blanc party, in the Easter Long Week-End in 2006. Is it true?? Will it be a live act too?
Yes its true, and it will be a live act with a lot of new stuff.
In the last 2-3 years, I have assisted personally to 7 of your performance here, in the province of Quebec. What makes Montreal a popular choice for IM?
Montreal is a great crowd to play for because of the energy and enthusiasm, which keeps us coming back every year!
What do you like most about Canadian fans, most precisely Montreal fans? Because you know, without neglecting all the other artists and bands in psy-trance music, IM is still one of the most popular bands?
The credit goes to the Montreal crowd that comes to every show and spreading the word.
Do you thing there is still place for psy-trance & goa music, while many different and other styles of electronic are emerging each year? What is the place of psy-trance music all across the world in 2005, when Trance and House reaches more and more fans?
Psy-trance is huge all around the world, and we think that it will be the biggest in the electronic genre.
What do you think distinguishes the most psy-trance (or your music) from the other styles? What can reach a new fan to get him to be absorbed by it?
Psy-trance is the best music for dancing. We respect all of the other styles, but we never saw the same energetic atmosphere in regards to other kinds of electronic music.
In conclusion, what will we be seeing (actually hearing), in the next months for IM? (Releases, Main Events across the world)? Will I have a scoop of a new album soon?
You can expect a new release in March 2006, so until then we will continue to tour all around the world. You can follow news and locations in our website.

Hate to rain on the Love Parade, high-speed, but if you nix the dickhead count, you can't even hitch on that ride yourself.
