| Originally posted by eRRaTiK some of those pics/poses look absurd. there was a (non-EDM artist, can't recall who) CD released recently where the cover was empty aside from a background and inside the inlay were a whole bunch of stickers. The consumer picks what stickers they like and arranges the cover themselves. So essentially everyone has their own uniquely self-designed cover. Pretty cool concept I thought. |

Another thing. Sometimes there are good examples of these covers. The Global Underground series for instance, although probably contributed far too heavily in others copying their stylee. Othertimes you get some really creative variations on it, despite some incredibly horrible ones as well.
Good:

Yes, that really is Grooverider's head.
Bad:

I mean, SERIOUSLY! What the FUCK is he looking at!!??
That AvB album cover with his face on it just scared me more than those websites with the suprise exorcist face/scream pop out
that grooverider cd is really badass...i think he has the right idea....

| Originally posted by LifeDeathTrance This is going to sound weird to some people, but others will know what im talking about. I've been noticing a popular trend with Djs lately that have big releases, such a AVB, ATB, etc. When they release a cd, instead of the cover representing something of great beauty, or something abstract or large in concept, they just stick the face on the entire cover of the cd. While the skills of these djs are not in question here, I feel as though the djs should understand that trance (for alot of people anyway) is bigger than a dj, or a producer, or any single person, and I feel as though these djs do trance a huge injustice when all they picture is themselves...i feel as though it even borders arrogance to think that a single persons face can cover any trance set, no matter what dj you are ..I love it when djs have something else on the cover even if they have to include themselves on part of it, such as endless blue skies, rolling mountain tops, or even city skylines, as I feel images like these capture the true essence of trance, something much greater than any single person. I feel as though examples of djs that do their cd covers right are, Markus Schulz "miami 05", Nick Warren "Live in shanghai", Robert Miles etc, Tiesto "In search of Sunrise 4". Does anyone else here know what I'm talking about or is this just a mindless rant ? Thanks for listening guys |
i'd make my cd similar to kid rock's

DJs ?
People who do that are not DJs...merely glorified jukeboxes.
Umm arent there like atleast 2 dj's with the same name?
And maybe they are trying to see who is the hottest dj..

loltiesto
i think ferry corsten is easily the sexiest dj
