i wasn't really commenting on paying for the stems..I was talking more about what Moby has achieved. Yes I do think it is stupid to have done this....but I really dont know how much Moby was involved in this, even though it is his track. I think its just plain wrong.

this is the part i don't get...

State/Province: *

Postal Code: *

Country: *

if its a US only contest, why bother putting "/province".

and why is it "postal code"... i thought it the US it's ZIP code... in Canada however it's postal code.

and seriously.. isn't it kind of obvious what the country will be?

anyways you can still enter from any other country, you are just not eligible for the prizes... i'm a retard and purchased the stems and am already halfway done the remix so i might as well just finish it and send it in hopefully to get some exposure and thats that...

I can't buy "Cosmic Gate-Should Have Known [wippenberg Mix]" off beatport because I live in the U.S. I would much rather have that track than partake in this contest.

I don't like these contests where they are selling the remix parts though. Giving prizes to winners is cool, but not when it is everyone else's money(I am sure the prizes are given by the vendors for marketing anyway).

well shit, way to go Moby.....I guess its bad to want to make money from your music and do it for the rest of your life...and not have to work at shitty jobs like mine...hmmm I guess he's an idiot.

Spanning different types of music is really stupid too....you dont want to be open minded.

Honestly I think he has done a great job with staying power...but I think the last time I actually really liked one of his tunes was back in 95' with "Every Time You You Touch Me". That was a bad ass tune back in the day.

Did I say any of the things you assumed from my response? No.

Is wanting to make money doing what you love a bad thing? No.

Do I respect the way Moby has gone about securing his career? No.

You're seeing it in action right now... *selling* his acapella for a remix contest that he gets the rights to... money for him, our time for him, free promotion for him.

D'uh!
