You deffinately have to be in the right mindset when you're dealing with psychadelics. You have to be as prepared as you can be to see some crazy shit hehe. Salvia is a lot of fun too, but only lasts a few minutes.

From my personal experience I've never come across a more psychoactive drug than LSD. I've tried just about everything in the book. PERIOD.

Hallucinogens have also been labelled illusionogenic, psychotomimetic, psychedelic, and mind-expanding, depending on whether scientists or users are talking about them. They include mescaline, psilocybin ("magic mushrooms"), and MDA (methylenedioxyamphetamine). Of this group, however, LSD is by far the most potent; it is approximately 100 times stronger than psilocybin and 4,000 times stronger than mescaline.

hmm. I drank about 1.5 grams of Schroom tea and was hallucinating. I did look in the mirror but did not find anything weird except for teh background looking like it was meltin but that was about it. I find my sensories more fucked during that time. Like my gf put her fingers through my hair and I had my eyes closed I saw all these blue razor blades flying towards me :S. 'Twas much fun though .

My housemates buddy went on a drip once.

He drove to the closest grocery store, bought a shopping cart worth of orange juice. Drove home. Filled up his bathtub with the juice. Got in and started squeezing himself.

He thought he was an orange.

I find Mushrooms and LSD offer VASTLY different experiences for me. Hell, no two acid trips seem to be the same for me, let alone having them be similar to another drug.

At the end of the day, LSD beats out mushrooms as my personal fave, but not by much (LSD is a 10/10 for me, shroom is a 9.8).

LSD for me, is more mathematical and intellectual in nature. Music sounds brilliant on it, and the Visuals on it are some of the most mind-meltingly beautiful and realtiy-shattering things I have ever seen.

A good dose of LSD also makes me want to throw on my backpack and go on a hike. It never seems as if I can get 'outdoors enough' while on LSD. The more natural, the more isolated, the more away from everyone - the better.

Visuals on LSD can also be like, a total visual disconnect from reality where your field of vision becomes a canvas for a surrealist animation to dynamicaly form on that has little or no resemblance to the 'real' reality around you. Mind you, the dose you take / set / setting plays a role in this. I find if I've done LSD at a club - there is too much stimulation going on for the visuals to really 'take off' like they can if you are sitting under a tree on a nice sunny day.

Mushrooms to me feel more natural / organic and 'spiritual' in nature. The thought loops / head games also seem to be more intense and harder to control. On a high dose of mushrooms, it can feel as if my mind is racing 10x faster then I am able to keep up, and keeps looping around on itself like it's trying to trick me - I can get so painfully aware of my own consciousness that it can almost feel uncomfortable. Mushrooms seem to offer up an intensity that even a high dose of LSD lacks.

A high dose of mushrooms can leave me wanting to curl up in a dark room under a blanket with music playing. Not saying that it's a bad thing - I've had some great trips like that -- it can be a hell of a good time

One of the key differences between LSD and Shrooms is also the duration - mushrooms, depending on the dose you can be down after around 6-8 hours. With LSD, after 6 hours you are /just/ starting to hit the come-down phase, and that can easily last another 6 hours. LSD can be one long ride - and thats the most common complaint I hear is "It lasts too long" (Personnaly, I think it doesnt last long enough )

At low doses, LSD is sort of similar to a low/medium dose of mushrooms, but once you start to get into higher doses, the drugs become very different expierences.

I'd highly recomend LSD atleast once to anyone who doesnt have any sort of mental-issue (depression/etc). Its one of the few drugs (mushrooms being the other) that has lead to some really positive changes in my life - even long after the substance has worn off.

Unless he took some heavy dose I really do not see that happening. Also a person would have to seriously let themselves be overtken by it. When I take schrooms I know exactly what I am going to see and that 80% of it is not real. It helps me make sure I do not freak out.

Posted by kaniz on Dec-12-2006 03:15:

As far gone as I've been on LSD, cant say I've ever thought I was made of an orange. That story just sounds like people re-telling the urban legend of "The guy who did so much LSD, he thought he was a glass of orange juice and was afraid that if he got tipped over he would die" (or one of the other 100 or so variations on it).
