Dark skinned people get burned much easier than white, we just don't feel the pain.

darkening and burning aren't the same thing
Just because you get darker doesn't necessarily mean you are being burnt.
Dermatologists differentiate skin types on whether it burns or tans.
Darkening is the melanocytes in the basal layers of your skin releasing melanin, a pigment
Burning is inflammation (erythema) and associated death of skin cells.
So if you don't redden, feel heat and pain, its not considered a burn. Ok, if your skin is darker you may not see it redden, but the heat and pain will still be present in a burn.
If i could find the right paper on my desk I'd be able to explain it better, but its somewhere amongst ~400 papers all concerning skin cancer

I've never felt the pain of the sun before but I do darken really quickly in half the time of my milk chokko mates

lol, phone is back to the oldskool ericsson t29s, getting my new one tomorrow 
and laptop staying in the apartment, i'm pretty much cooked atm and need some lunch!
