No-one needs to tell me that Jizza, i'm not white!!! I get burnt i.e get darker when exposed to the sun. Just because we don't exactly peel or feel sunburn doesn't mean we don't get burnt dude.

Just because you get darker doesn't necessarily mean you are being burnt.

Dermatologists differentiate skin types on whether it burns or tans.
Darkening is the melanocytes in the basal layers of your skin releasing melanin, a pigment
Burning is inflammation (erythema) and associated death of skin cells.

So if you don't redden, feel heat and pain, its not considered a burn. Ok, if your skin is darker you may not see it redden, but the heat and pain will still be present in a burn.

If i could find the right paper on my desk I'd be able to explain it better, but its somewhere amongst ~400 papers all concerning skin cancer
