Ya seriously.
It is a contract position which scares me, but Im thinking of it as my foot in the door right now... Ill be a Project Manager or something and the salary is right around what i want, close to about 100k.
I dont have it yet oran9e, im competing with 2 others, but it looks promising my agent says.
But ya from what I hear its pretty plush.
So if I dont end up getting it, maybe one of you guys know a spot where they might need me at!
I hate where im at right now. Im starting to develop a twitch in my eye because people annoy the shit outta me here. By the end of the week im all burned out because of all the ignorance here.

I work as a tech support rep for starwood hotels. Basically i am saving the hospitality industry, one starwood property at a time.
I love it cause i get rooms at the bonaventure all the time, and i got a room in miami for wmc on the beach at a five star resort for $69.00 per night.
I also get to pretty much make my own hours, as we are 24 hour support, so i can come in around 2pm or so if i want to sleep in for a week or a month.
my night job is fun, playing out and drinking at some of the best clubs in LA with some of the coolest people in LA
life is good....for now

But moving to HR.. then I'll have some jobs 4 ya (lol)
I'm the assistant manager for Baby Gap/Maternity incharge of operations in Burlingame. Currently I'm enjoying my job, but it has it's ups and downs. It's retail after all.
This summer I interned at a big advertising company in West Hollywood. I absolutly loved it. Great company, great people, and the office was at the PDC so whenever I walked into and out of the office tehre were always beautiful woman walking about. Unfortunatly there were no full time positions there, and I ended up moving back to my home town of St. Louis in September.
Now I work as a resaerch lab assistant in a neurology lab at Washington University in St. Louis. I hate my job. Its kind of interesting at times, but I hate working in a lab. Most of the time though, I don't have anything to do, so I really can't complain because I'm being paid to sit infront of the computer and do whatever.
But I've decided, I am moving back to LA in May. I just need to make sure i have a job there.... Anyone know of any companies hiring?

Love my job! But I hate idiots who know nothing tell me how to do my job. That should have gone on the Vent thread but fuck it.

I don't have a paying job
I am a full time grad student and I go out on the weekends (either Friday or Saturday).
I am not too sure if I want a job. I like that I can just focus on studying, but it would be nice to have some money coming in.
haha, I just wanted to reply to this thread.)

I work for an Enterprise Search company in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as a software developer/customer solutions guy. No it's not google
(although they keep trying to hire me).
I don't love my job, but I am tolerating it. In fact at times I deal with a lot of b.s. because I am working in a developing country, and the rules are different here. Everyone kisses the boss's ass, overdresses, works long hours, ignores their personal life and significant others. It's a sub-serviant environment, and the office can be chauvanistic at times. It's especially difficult being the gringo, as there is higher expectations of me. It's not what I am used to having worked in Silicon Valley for 10 years, but I'm getting experience working abroad which is invaluable, and it's the most humbling experience of my life (especially taking the bus in Sao Paulo for two hours a day!)
But I moved out here to be with my girlfriend until she finishes her phd, and I was lucky to even find a job here paying 60-70% of my US salary, so for that I am grateful. Also I am getting to live in Brazil for a year or two, improve my Portuguese, and I know I am going to hate it when I move away!
I'm already starting to look for a new position for 2008 after she graduates. It's a 80% likelyhood we re-locate to the bay area - so if anyone knows of cool places to work, let me know! The other option is Amsterdam - yes, Amsterdam - as my girlfriend wants to pursue a postdoc there working for a well-know researcher. I hope I can find work there if that happens, but I am sure my weekends would be filled.
I enjoy DJing too, I've plade a few parties here in Sao Paulo, and I am working with some friends to throw something at a club at Sao Paulo, there are a lot of opportunities here!
seems like all of you have some cool jobs. but i dont see anyone who works in a trade.
im a plumber, and yes it is a shity job sometimes. i enjoy doing remodels and new construction. if any of you need a plumber, im right here.
Love them all
I'm pretty much surrounded by women all day with a work ratio of 3 females to every male here and I do marketing and creative design.
The rest of the time I work for Spundae
surrounded by women during the day, music at night - no complaints here
and I pretty much make up my schedule with either, but my days are usually 5/6am - midnight during the week anyhow - there's always work to be done!!!!
