I do not drink ANY pop or ANY juices at all (unless it's with alcohol, which is a totally different thing,) and haven't drank any as an actual beverage for at least 3 years, probably going on four. My teeth thank me for it

If you want something sugary, try making yourself fruit smoothies. Get a blender, and blend up an entire jug of smoothie, and work your way through it during the day. It's REALLY good for you, and it has that sweet juicy taste/satisfaction.

If you can't be bothered to do that (doesn't take long really,) try drinking some chocolate milk, or water with squeezed lemon.

I personally buy pre-prepared frozen fruit in bulk, and then heat it up just a little in the microwave to help the blender smoosh it up, then throw the mixed fruits straight in, blend, and drink. You can throw some whey/protein powder in there too if you like, or some (soy) milk or honey.

Very healthy, and helps with that desire for something sugarey.

Water, Iced tea 90% of the time

Ya, I drink soft drink on occasion, not too often. I just don't like the bitter taste.

I'm also a fan of fruitopia

Add a little crystal light to your water. they come in individual sized servings for 500ml water bottles now. good for a change every once in awhile.

as of January, I will be cola and coffee free for a year. It was a bitch to kick those habits

Sugar is very unhealthy, I dont drink carbonated drinks anymore. I drink water and tea thats about it and when I use something to sweeten tea I use honey.

Honey is actually a real good way to "control" your sugar cravings and it's healthy for both your skin and hair since it attracts and retains moisture. Not to mention honey can never go bad and it is tastey.

My main source of caffeine is Coffee, occasionally energy drinks and sometimes Vivarin tabs.

No soda for me.

Posted by CranberryJuice on Dec-17-2006 21:12:

i never drink soda , a glass of orange juice in the morning and coffee during the day or tea but soda is unhealthy ......well if u drink it in excess so i would recommand u to drink some flavored water maybe?

and then cut and just stick to juices ...100% pure juice so it's healthy and water

Thanks for the info guys. I haven't had soda since Tuesday, right now I think I am almost over the craving. Last night we had pizza and I thought "I need to drink soda with this, it's the only way to have pizza," then I just had some orange juice and that was it.

i dont really care, tea is good, beer is good, fizzy drinks are good, juice is good, milk is good, they're all good.

basically, if ur thirsty, would u rather post what drink u like most or just guzzle down that bottle of whatever thats just sitting there?

Haven't drank soda since eighth grade or so really, although I will sometimes mix Sprite with vodka. Normally I drink nothing but water. I haven't had caffeine in so long that the one time I did try it (drank some Coke) made me feel really weird.

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Dec-18-2006 00:59:

Yeah, I was kind of surprised at how many said they don't drink it. I'm the only non-diabetic I know in person who doesn't drink soda...

Dr. Pepper and plenty of water

and dont fucking talk about the importance of being healthy when theres a cigarette pack in your pocket. hypocrites

Classic man

But seriously... 4-8 cans a day is nothing. I don't smoke or drink alcohol -- I've never even "experimented" with either and I don't plan to. I am the healthiest person I know and more than a few people have said the same thing about me. In 2 years at my last job, working anywhere from 20-30 hours when I started out and 40-50 hours for the last year, I never once missed a day of work, never called in sick -- hell, I was sick for one day of class throughout all middle and high school, and I could have gone to school that day anyway, but uh, we all need to "stay home" sometimes ;-)

And for the record, diabetes linked to sugar intake is largely unproven. Yes, studies have been done, but that's not necessarily singling out soda -- it's ALL sugar, and diabetes is far more linked to heredity.

Wrong. I used to do cocaine. One day I threw away all my stuff, well after I finished it that is. I had a nice sniff straw, bullet and a cool round thing I had found which was perfect for grinding the rock into powder.

I don't really drink much coke buy the occasional bottle of Coke or Sprite every now and then

I'd replace it with green tea and fruit juice. Beer and Vodka too but try and stick to that at the weekends.

Vodka, I was tempted to say something nasty about you, but then I remembered they make it out of potatos

I've stopped drinking soda, five years ago. Carbonated Water and Phospheric Acid, FTL.

Posted by farley on Dec-20-2006 00:23:

Ever since I've paid my own way in life I've essentially stopped drinking coke/soda. I used to drink quite a bit of it when I was a kid (and the 'rents were buying), but when I first moved out bills were fairly tight and I couldn't be bothered to waste the money on that rather than other things. At this point I'm so used to only water that I really don't have any desire to drink a coke anymore. I'll occasionally have one (maybe one with lunch every few weeks) but it's not too common...if you can just force yourself off it for a few weeks you should be fine.

Posted by Emil on Dec-20-2006 03:33:

It's been exactly a week since I stopped drinking. I still get the cravings for it, but I don't give in. I found this fruit punch from Tropicana that has no sugar, carbs, etc, etc, made with real fruit juice. It's a bit more expensive than a 2 liter of coke, but worth it to drink instead.
