-- To Me, Trance is More of a Boy-Girl Thing

Nou couldn't recognize dubstep to save his life.
Trance is so surreal that it gives me feelings beyond what a real relationship requires. The trance music experience is very personal for me. But I love to be surrounded by people I know are enjoying it just as much as I am.
Lets face it, majority of females love vocal trance, I bet you all going to get girls attention when you sing out loud "As the rush comes" I did it, she laughed at me first, and then she sang with me. There is no getting laid with Trance music, just friends music, thats it. If you want get laid music, sing "Sexual Healing" either by Max a Million or Marvin Gayne.
i sang rick astley and it didnt do shit for me

I had sex with my girlfriend to the Sharam EM Saturday night. Does that count?
Its because more guys are gooft dorks , and goofy dorks love the trance
Trance is one of my favorite genres partly because the songs aren't obviously "about" anything. Or, the ones I like generally aren't.
To heck with "messages" and "lyrical intent." In trance, at least.
I just want to hear some cool sounds and melodies, not a bunch of silliness about love and desire and missing your lover and whatever else blah blah blah.

I have nothing against love songs, but unfortunately a lot of love-orientated trance tracks have the most terrible of lyrics.
I don't suppose any old bedroom producer can be a Bob Dylan or even a Thom Yorke though.
And besides, I'm constantly told that lyrics "don't matter" in trance, it's just "nice" to have a warbling female voice present.
Still, I think if I tried to share a bit of 'Interstate - I Found U' with my girlfriend, she'd probably dump me for a real man.
Just too sickeningly ametaphorical.
for me it has to be progressive trance - Prog trance is my form of escapism - put on the headphones and this crazy world vanishes.
As for the gender divide - I don't particularly feel less of a guy when I listen to System F than a full on masculine electro mash up - for me music has no divide unless its boybands/girlbands this is the only time that music tends to sway one way or another - and I can watch Girls Allowed with the volume turned down for hours

I can't see how trance is a boy/girl thing.
Definitely not in a club. In club its more like 75 men and a girl thing. Talk about sausage fest, the state of GodsKitchen or similar UK parties that i attended recently proved to me just how masculine the whole go-out to trance night really is.
There is a few decent groupies who are off-limits cos they're trying to get into the dj booth, and a few minging birds with fairywings trying hard not to lose their dignity with 200 men pushing and groping them.
If you however mean, out of the club, perhaps that is something different, but i'd agree with Col, trance lyrics are about as thought out as this post was for grammatical accuracy. As in, not a lot of effort over structure is being made at all.
