So i turned off at the switch, got out thongs to try and pull the remaining bits out.

Thongs are a peculiar item to use for such a task.

Don't use a cigarette lighter to check the amount of gasoline remaining in the gas tank of a four-wheeler, even if you have no flashlight and it's pitch farking black. Your eyelashes could regret it.

I've done that too as a kid... makes me wonder if we all did it at one time.

I did something similar to this, except with a camcorder plug, and to top it all off my arm was also touching a metal bar. Needless to say my hand was numb for like 20 minutes.

Yeah it's true but you need a certian voltage to get through your skin and whatever else is in the way and back out. The most important things really is the path that it takes, up one finger and down the other of the same hand for example goes no where near your heart so isn't going to kill you (unless it's MV/HV stuff) but the worst I think is from say your righ hand to left foot, can't remember why thats worse than hand to hand but apparently it is.

When I was in highschool I decided to put up Christmas lights at dusk, while they were on, using an aluminum ladder. I think my story beats yours.

Wooops.

prolly cuz it runs through your whole body, up to down-

dont touch neon signs. sometimes you can, sometimes you cant

When a can of carburetor cleaner says 'Do not use near open flame', don't grab a lighter and give it a spray to see if they are just joking around.
