Agreed. The looping feature on Traktor is top

Evil1 !!

Traktor v2.0 looks like a beast, cant wait to get my hands on that piece of soft! In answer to earlier I have used an external mixer with Traktor 1.06 & 1.1...

Also Santa Cruz soundcard is tcheap 1 man mean machine, traktor loves my santa cruz (shame ASIO doesn't ), i get good latency on both my ouputs.

Is it just me or is Atomixmp4 SHIT?! The sound quality is awful. Try playing:
Ayu - M (above & beyonds typhoon dub)
OR
DJ Tiesto - Urban Train (Cosmic Gate remix)

They sound terrible! One beat is hard one beat is soft...the symbols distort the rest of the sounds etc. etc....

www.atomixmp3.com

It's got tons of neat stuff.. effects, skins, external mixer support, looping, autoBPM, auto beat matching, waveform display... and it's STABLE! (unlike traktor)

what soundcard are you using??

...

Atomix is no match for Traktor IMHO, but i've said this countless times, =D. But it does sound like soundcard problems rather than probs with atomix.

most likely, its just another case of using a software-driven audio board (AC97 junk) with DirectX - not the best combo. at all. hehe.

trying to get used to traktor... ugh... traktor is looking as 'toyish' as atomixmp3, if not worse.

AC97 is such a shite onboard soundchip, my m8s SB Cheapo Live! blew and he had to resort to the AC97, he has Reason and real crap headfones, and then he comes round mine and uses reason with the Senn HD280's and the Santa Cruz and see's the difference,

Traktor has its moments of being bad, but Traktor V 2.0 looks shit hot, and I want something which has good features and is not trying to mimic a real deck. Most likely because if I get use to VTT I mite actually go out and spend next yrs student loan on 1210's, a mixer and lots and lots of trance.

How did you get that to work with 1.06? I can't find the option...

hmm, where the key binder is, you can bind certain things, like the X-fader, to keys, but also an external mixer. I cant look because I am at college atm, but i'll take a look later to confirm it.

I'd recommend BPM Studio. It's hella lot of fun to play with.

It is stable, has excellent sound quality, is easy to mix with, and if you've DJed before with regular decks or CD decks, is very intuitive. The software mixer is not quite as good as a decent external mixer, but it gets the job done quite well.

will BPM studio support an external mixer via dual soundboards?

Posted by uberclkgtr on Apr-17-2002 18:23:

yes. i haven't ever set it up that way myself though. i've just played with it using the internal mixer.

it also has a nice on-the-fly compressor.

I've had a play with BPM Studio, it looked pretty impressive i'll give it that, but that was after I was used to traktor, so it didn't convert me, Traktor v2.0 looks quite a lot like it. But if they implement multiple loops in Traktor v2 using the old looping system, that will be awesome, the revamped look is also pretty sweet too.

Yes I mix that way.. You set player A to soundcard 1, player B to soundcard 2, and mute the monitor channel in the program. It works similar as double CD player. Except you use mouse for pitch/cue unless you have the console Alcatech makes.

i'll have another go with BPM Studio, does anyone know where I can get the latest full copy? And i'm not paying for it if you know what I mean...
