The power of kick-ass old skool deep house compells you.

TLB even managed to turn For An Angel into a tech-houser.

...and it sucks.

Agreed, that wasn't really one of his best productions. As Norman he made some wonderful stuff back in the day. And not to forget his legendary partnership with DJ Tom.

Never got into his Terry Lee Brown Jr stuff. I think I have one on some beige vinyl that sounded like a hardfloor track. My favorite piece from that alias and it wasn't really original.

Best thing to come out of Plastic City is by far Tesox - Funky Bassline

yeah, i like chandler. ditto to marshall jefferson. love it!

distant, i highly doubt you've heard 50% of PC's catalog if you've just listened to Jigsaw 70 hours ago

New to the forum, but I saw this thread and had to throw in my 2 cents.

I also recently stumbled across Terry Lee Brown Jr and Plastic City a few months ago...hot shit for sure if you like deep/tech-house. Karambalogue (The Edit) is particularly jackin' and deep. Easily one of my favorite tracks of the year.

IMO, can't dig Timewriter's stuff as much, but then again I probably haven't given more than 5 or 6 of his tracks a listen (2 of which I own). TLB Jr is top of the pops though for sure,

And I'll second the ADNY track. Although I'm particularly fond of the Mateo Murphy remix.

Yes, I did listen to it recently, again. I got it just to see if my opinion had changed. I went through all that Plastic City in early 2005, as I said. Or it might've been late 2004, who knows.

Mull & Rachmad remix > Checking out Karambalogue, thanks!

distant, okay OKAY. calm down!
so 'For an Angel' is that bad, huh?

Posted by distant on Dec-28-2006 02:02:

Yeah, it's horrible.

it's not that good. it doesn't use the actual memorable melody that's in the original if i remember correctly.

Alright, sparing myself the time and taking your guys' word for it..

@ distant, constant love is heavy deeeeeeeeeeep.

So this is said to be the first tech-house record?!

Click

Coincidentially I was looking for samples to post, as it's one of my all time top 3.

I had totally forgotten all about that 51 Days record. The title track is deep shit. You know what... I've changed my mind... you do have good taste after all, and I'm glad someone around here is listening to early 90's stuff rather than just the latest trend-house.

Terry rocks. Our Rhythm, Insectisuicides, Barsnack, Fourty degree and a bunch of others.

Go Plastic City!

Love Plastic City

Paintbox was one of my fave albums last year and Karambolage for 2006.

Check out TBJ's alias Nor-Elle for a more chilled twist. Uber-talented producer!
