Phynn - Solitude seems "sad" to me. This is probably just a very subjective, personal opinion, however.

Is it just me or are some people simply posting any track with vaguely emotional content?

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Dec-27-2006 20:48:

Well, "sad" is open to at least a little interpretation, and the emotions a song conjures up also have a lot to do with the circumstances in which people first heard it.

Brilliant song, but never struck me as sad.

Just an example of what I noted above, I guess.

well sure. to me its sad. but not because of the circumstances of when I first heard it but more because of the lyrics and the melody..

how fast we burn!
how fast we cry!
the more we learn,
the more we die!

the more we learn,
the more we cry!
how fast we burn!
how fast we die!

i hear the planet crying now
i hear the planet crying now

id say thats up there with the saddest of em

The lyrics are sad, I agree, but the melodies and harmonies strike me as really uplifting, especially the chorus. Listening to it always gives me a really pleasant and energetic feeling.

Royksopp - Dead To The World
Ulrich Schnauss - Gone Forever
M83 - Farewell/Goodbye (much sadder than Teen Angst)
Clint Mansell - Stay With Me (from "The Fountain")

Isn't this like the upteenth - "Post sad songs" on this forum board?!

Oh well...

Ferry Corsten - Sublime (THrillseekers rmx) (YES, this does have something to do with my mood at the time)

Armin Van Buuren - Never Wanted This (these sappy lyrics somehow made my heart swell)

Luminary - Amsterdam
Gabriel & Dresden - Enemy
Tiesto & Aqualung - UR

Anything from Sigur Rs' album, '( )'. Tracks one, four and eight are my favourite (they don't have official titles, clever that). I do believe I win!

Poor Leno - Royksopp

And I Don't know why but Claude VonStroke's Who's Afraid of Detroit makes me feel kind of sad when i listen to it.
