I'm actually going to the party the night before. Should be wicked times partying in an office building.

I think I'll come back for this party too.
The line-up looks sweet, and the price is right.

No, unfortunately I've never been myself. So I'm not sure what to expect.

Although I do have some general info about the building from class which may give you an idea:
The building is designed by Mies Van Der Rohe. He's a very famous and influential architect from the 1960s. In any case, I've heard from some friends/profs. that have visited/researched the building, that there are various lounges and restaurants on multiple floors of the building, so I would imagine the party will be held there. From the sounds of it and the general style of the architect himself, the interior will be fairly posh and upscale (high quality marble tiles and walls, leather chairs, chrome columns, etc.) so everyone wear your suits and dresses.

I'll let you guys know how the location is and how to get up there when I get home on Monday morning, before you guys head down.

but whatever, the EDM NYE events don't have very good line ups for the price imo... and i'd rather spend the night with close friends. Plus we'll get a wikkid view of the fire works

As you probably know, most djs vary their sound according to the crowd. If the crowd demands it, he'll probably pick up the instinct to play HARD.

As always, I always want a harder sound - but that doesn't always happen.

I hope they let you guys have the party, because the promoter for the party last night fucked up big time.

at around 10pm they had over 1000 people packed in the lobby trying to get to the 16th floor using only 3-4 elevators (when there was about 24 there). Even the stairs were packed with people trying to get up.

Then around 11-11:30pm, the fire marshal came and shut the party down. They said they were breaking all the fire hazard laws and they didn't have a license for the party or something like that.

Here's the part which may effect you guys... as we were talking to the fire marshal, the promoter comes out to see whats the problem. and the gist of it was: "there will not be another party in this building... and you are never throwing a party again, period."

Anyways, best of luck guys. and if you guys get in, someone please take a few picture of the view and venue for me. I'm very curious to see what it looks like. Thanks.


PS. I don't think I'll be making it down for this event anymore, I'm way to tired after the bullshit from last night. Have fun everyone.
