the party was rocking. i had a kickass time. they definately needed to work on that coat check. because that was not cool. thankfully Jelo was dropping some sick ass tunes (as always) so i was just dancing waiting in line for the coat check.

i was a bit disapointed that it was only DJ Bossi and not COSMIC GATE (like they advertised) if it's cosmic gate i need 2 ppl not one member. Bossi did kill it though. kept me dancing like a mad man.

so sad i misssed this - waited for my buddy (and his friend) to show up and at 4 am decided I was def. not going. Ended up stayin' at the loft party!...totally disappointed he did not show up till after 4 am - glad to hear the night was good for most though

Yeah, the one compliant I have is the coat check.

Andrew, thank you so much for saving us from this!!

Rich and James said Carl was in line for like an hour and a half at the end of the night.

Fuck coat check. I don't remember the last time I used one.

I had a fantabules time! Went thinking it was gunna be such a shitshow, but to my surprise everything seemed to be under control and not the place wasnt super rammed. Only got to catch the last of Dennis' set, but he was playin some hard ass tunes. Jelos set was fucking awesome, plays such good party tunes. Cosmic gate, for the little i can remember, was meh, and andrew played an awesome set! perfect way to end the night.

Posted by techead on Jan-02-2007 23:27:

Jelo made my night with his tunes
Andrew played better than Cosmic gate IMHO
Chris definately played a strong set
once more evidence that the locals are getting stronger every year

I had a really good time there on Sunday night... it's tough to organize a party that size without any issues and it looked to me like it was very well run. They had no issues getting people in, the place looked fantastic, and they did a bang up job of the Parkview Room. Great booth and great sound. Vibe in there was wikked too, I had a blast playing!

Sorry that I had to jet after my set I wanted to catch up with some of you but we shall do that soon... thanks once again Destiny for having me in to play, looking forward to Valentine's!

Posted by urban_legend on Jan-03-2007 16:21:

two big thumbs down for this party. Coat check was gay, I love counting down to new years in line when I originally got there at 11:15 pm. The rooms were set up hooriably, the sound interferred with each other, the main room was crappy jungle till 2am when they were supposed to have Walter Rosati in there, couldnt get the feel for the night, some nice people in there but alot of assholes too. VIP was shit, glad I didnt pay even close to 50% of what they were charging. Cosmic Gate and Tiesto? I dunno, wasnt feelin that track at that point in his set. Left at 3:30 cause the party sucked ass.

Never doing Docks again.

Shoulda gone to Sonic......

Posted by nusty on Jan-04-2007 04:24:

I just got home now. wholly fawk am I tired.

NuEra was awesome, so worth the crazy driving all weekend for his set alone! Jelo was sweetness too. Whoever it was that played the hour long set of cheesy breaks remixes needs their cheese o meter checked.
Great seeing Shanny, Dan, Andrew and a bunch of other old non-TA friends that I wasn't expecting to see... especially since I didn't even get to the party until 4am!

ok, I'll write more tomorrow. It's 11:20pm on Wednesday night.... I need some serious sleep! I drove back to london after destiny at 10am to then stay up all day, got 4 hours of sleep and then had to drive back to NYC through last night for work at 1pm today.... Got home 3 hours before work started (slept 2 hours in the car), showered and then went to work. Good night.

I came down to see Andrew's set and was not dissapointed, despite the party lacking energy and 11 people over the age of 12.

It is very satisfying to see a friend performing at such a high level on a big stage. Congrads Andrew on a job well done, hopefully it's just the beginning of a trend of big gigs for you man, you deserve it.

Two other notes about the night...

1) A humorous highlight was when all the sound cut out in the back room except Jelo's monitor and he didn't know what had happened until Pett went up and told him, followed by hearing loud cursing from the booth.

2) The sound in the mainroom was as good as I have ever heard it during NuEra's set, can't speak for the rest of the party since I wasn't there, but it was 10 times better than Morillo at the end, clear and powerful, hope it can be like that all the time.

LOL! Jelo's awesome

Yeah, Andrews set was awesome on the system, wicked deep bass, nice and loud, sounded wicked.

A proper Cosmic Gate @ Docks Review anyone??

After yesterday's unbelievable response to my video thread, I better put a thread that is actually relevant!!

After reading the reviews on NYE'S Docks event, I didn't really get the right info I wanted. So does anyone have any details of Cosmic Gate and or any piks of them playing?

I never had the chance to see them that nite.

ta...

Cosmic Gate is the reason why I stayed at the Docks...if it wasn't for him i would have cried...

I haven't been to a trance show in a long long time and I was hoping for him to be good and he was....excellent!!! Yaaay to clssic trance! He played a lot of classsics like Lethal Industry...I know , I know..I don't like Tiesto but this is a great track...

Can't really remember much but overall...wow!!!! great set, and I made sure I told him about it... Not like he needed to be told...he knew...he was so into it...awesome!

Yeah!!

Were both Nick And Stephan there? they are a dj team.

Saw them at Trance Energy in Holland 2004. They are quite an act.

btw. Love your remarks in the tiesto thread! heheh

cheers.

Not too sure which one it was...That was the first time I saw Cosmic Gate...I was so impressed though I just couldn't stop dancing...He saw me, and probably thought I was insane, but I turned around and said to him: "thank you for bringing trance to me" he looked at me, gave me props, turned around, oput his fist up and the crowd went nuts!!!!...it really was that good...all of my friends agree as well..

I recorded him on my camera...I had to...he really was an act to see..

...lol...what can I say
for those who know and and truly believe in trance know what Tiesto has done...and how bad he's making himself look...those who are still standing by his side are in denial and just don't know...they're hoping and waiting for nothing......

I in no way disagree with what you are saying. But I also have to say that I don't consider Tiesto a truly trance DJ anymore and many of you have to come to terms with that and I am pretty sure many of you know that and if you think that Tiesto is truly a Trance Dj as of right now well think again. Tiesto's style has evolved and he no longer just plays Trance. None the less Tiesto is still a great DJ who puts on a good party, I never had a bad time at a Tiesto show and I've seen him 5 times now in a year. Have I seen Dj's put on a better performance music wise ? of course yes, but I have to say no party really ever brings so much hype and excitment as a party where Tiesto is to play. I think why many of you are bashing him its because you've seen him more then any other DJ and expect him to be better everytime you see him.

Trust me if you saw Cosmic Gate 5 times well I am pretty sure you would not review the DJ in such amazament. First time I saw Armin at Bal En Blanc 12 I was amazed...the second time I saw him at Labour of Love not so much.
