Clovis!!! Find me the liveset!!! :P <3 I think the tents were too close together, all I heard was interference.

Yeah, I don't share the same opinion with most people here. Sasha was using his Ableton delayer effect about 50 times too many (all right already, find a new effect), and his beatmatching was worse than paul oakenfold. And instead of Sasha and John Digweed as a team, it felt more like Sasha going off into his own direction...Diggers getting lost in it. They didn't seem to work together.

But I still spotted a lot of tracks, rolled balls and had fun. JVM ripped it up.

Happy 2K7

I heard 3-4 slight slips over the course of the night, while they were going between ableton and CD, but they caught each very quickly and most people I asked didnt notice...

Ya, I didn't think they were that great together either. I expected them to be alot better (together), not that they weren't good. I like Sasha better when he plays alone. And I like Digweed better when he plays alone. I also didn't like the fact that I recognized most of the songs. Next time, maybe I shouldn't download every recent live set possible and listen to them over and over again before I go see the dj. lol

I'm kinda bitter I didn't even check out a minute of Sander either.

My opinion about this night doesn't count though. I'm sure if I was feeling better, I would have enjoyed it better. Also, my texts weren't working for 2 hours after midnight, so I lost all my friends. Thanks to Rich and other TA's for keeping me company.

*edit* oh ya, and Sasha didn't play any of the "weak in the knees" songs I was hoping he would play!!!

Overall, I had a great time, but I was expecting "GIANT" to be a little bigger, lol. I was also a little annoyed that the music was so LOUD, but really enjoyed Ferry & Armin's sets. Here are my pictures from both Spundae and Giant: New Year 2007

P.S. $7 water? WTFBBQ

track id please.. i could have sworn i heard different variations of this track many times through out their set

Ferry's & Armin's tent seems kinda bright inside. Was that how it was?

S&D's tent is wayyy darker, which I love!

For trance & prog, love it to be nice and dark and have the lighting take control!

Screw all of you.

Posted by david.sound on Jan-02-2007 01:40:

again i was irritated with the next door interruptions. and i thought sasha and diggers beat matched fairly well considering their ears were being blown by multiple monitors and standing behind rumbling bass. plus they are getting old, their ears don't work as well. lol. but yeah i noticed a trainwreck or two, but they know what they are doing and that's what counts. i'm not there to spectate their flaws, only to enjoy their company. someone find me a recorded liveset! ;

6 FULL hours of sasha and digweed at the dead front center is just
my ears are ringing still and it was just too insane. there was freaking 30 speakers!! it was shaking my knees and my jaws were bouncing to the beat. best event i've been to ever. not to mention the BEST system i've ever heard. they're style is .... just........ too...... original and godlike. BOWDOWN. definitely experience of a lifetime for those that didn't get to make it. i can't wait to see them again this year!
great way to end my 21 year

ps: whose got pictures, i wanna see the madness@

also, they are there to help each other transition from one style to another. to build each other up.

Digweed: "I will play fillers for now, you think of a way to please these drug induced children."

Sasha: "LOL, stupid Americans."

Digweed: "I didn't bring my record bag, I left it at Fabric London."

Sasha: "Whatever, they'll dance to anything."
